Offhandedly he says. "For arguments sake, please recite them to me..." not that he needed them told again, just loved the sound of her voice. The soothing melody of her accent. That and to see if she could think while his hands roamed under the water. While not directly going in for the kill, they did trace a fine line on its boundary.
Now that she was in front of him, he got to look at her. He decided if she was helping of the washing of his body he could return the favor. Reaching over he grabbed some soap and started lathering it up, wincing some with pain. Awkwardly he reached behind her with his good arm and gave up soon after. That would never work, so he started on on her shoulder. In slow lazy circles he applies the soap, waiting for the reaction that was sure to come for a word he said.
Chuckling he tries to block the water, when she had stopped he grinned and leaned closer. "Khari..." he whispers as he brushes his lips gently over hers. Nothing more nor less than a what he wanted to do. "Khari.." he whispers again but allows the tip of his tongue a taste of her before pulling away. Eyes closed, he tastes his own lips going so far as sucking on his lower lip seeking more of her like an addiction.
Opening his eyes he sighs. "Maybe unlucky is the word. I might not be able to apologize as i had wanted to..." Hands slipping under the water they pull her closer still as they settle over her hips. "Such a shame, too. Though there is always time to speculate....other things."
****
Unbeknown to them, there was a circus of commotion happening at the front door. Someone had shown up and was calling out Khari's name and there appeared to be an entourage of people with her calling her Senator Vestra.....

She stared blankly back at him, and would it not have looked ridiculous she may even have put her hands on her hips, but sitting like this she might have knocked an elbow against one side of the tub. He actually wanted her to recite them? Please, who was he trying to fool?
"Fine, fine, if that's the way you want to be about it...I believe the terms of the challenge were that if I couldn't last a full three days doing exactly what you wanted then....." Khari let out a yelp of surprise, nearly jolting away from the unseen hand that had just invaded her space, until she realized it was him and settled...only to lose her train of thought completely for a good long moment. When she recovered it, it was with a slight blush, "then the loser would have to do one thing, without question that the other chose. Out of interest, what was that one thing on your part?"
She had to be honest, she really didn't care what his one thing was when he was doing what he was, all rational thoughts were thrown completely out the nearest air lock and personally she couldn't have been happier. But just as he'd seen fit to surprise her thus all the way around the array...and in the medcenter earlier, she still had yet to get revenge for that. And she would, it was just a matter of finding the right time, that was if a bright pink ship didn't do it all for her.
When he leaned in he'd already managed to get her full attention, how could he not? The temptingly sweet sensation of his lips brushing hers was all a tease and she knew this to be so, he never simply just gave in and for that matter, nor did she. But that didn't stop her longing for it, craving him to take things that bit further. She could have done it herself of course but that would have violated some part of his skewed agreement so she remained where she was, a hint of a disappointedly irked whimper passing her full lips when he drew back for effect. Damn him...maybe she'd leave his ship pink after all.
But she still had full use of her hands, since she had insighted this little war of wills then she would continue as she had meant to go on, because one thing was aparrent; he hadn't said stop. That Khari did, albeit a little uncoordinated all thanks to his counterance.
"Tease," was all she muttered back under her breath at him, he would have heard her, she made sure of it. But he wasn't the only one teasing now, he'd just upped the stakes.
Khari let him draw her closer, it suited her purpose well, though she didn't lose any of that starry eyed look about her, despite the rising steam that was more proverbial than literal. Luxuriating in his touch, however, she was about to comment when the sound of the door chime rang out in the empty hallway atrium of the suite, stilling Khari completely for those first few moments.
Gingerly she craned her neck back to see if she could see out in the hallway from their resting place, a pointless exercise, since the door obscured whoever was out there. She had stated she didn't want to be disturbed, to raise her on her private commlink frequency if it was urgent. Turning back to glance at Tress, she frowned a little confused,
"Did you tell anyone you would be here?"
Again the chime sounded, grating on Khari's nerves while she tried to think of just who would actually know she was here and hadn't gotten the memo as it were. And that was when she heard it.
"Khari? Answer the door will you dear, I know you're in there it was all over the kuat first news..."
Khari's expression dropped deadpan, her shoulders slumped and slowly, as far as she could without bumping vitals with Tress, opposite, she sank down into the water with a groan. Why now, why here and why oh why here?!

He shrugged his good shoulder and grinned at her. "My part was three days and nights of a personal telbunny. " he winked and changed his description. "personal assistant. Almost, Sorta. well its more like partner if anything."
"I don't plan on changing the terms, just use the rest of the time to catch up on things that have been lacking." He liked that surprise sound of hers and tried for another, this time much much more bolder. "Speaking of things that had been lacking, this bath is something i looked forward to for the last two days. Now only if this taste leaves my mouth....some drinks later should help remedy that. Don't you think?"
Yes, he was and going to do so more often than not. It was his game wasn't it? His to control and have fun with. Things would get more frustrating before the end, surely she knew that or had a feeling. There was something he wanted to ask her. "I don't know if i drempt this before or not, but that remote..." he was under the influence and cant remember all that went down at that medbay. He couldn't have down all that...could he?
He had heard the chimes the same moment she did, and he looked at her. Her questions caught him offgaurd. "Me?" what did that mean, he didn't actually know anyone on the Array besides her and a few people. Plus, he did sneak out of the medcenter so would they know to look for him there? Could be.
He heard a woman speak from the other side of the door, "What news? Do you who ever it is?" he asked as she suck into the water a groan accompanying her.

He hadn't been making that any easier on himself, Khari thought as she listened to it all bit by blundering bit. Tress was clearly trying to see how far he could push it before she did something again, trying to make her lose her side of the bargain. Well she wasn't beaten yet. It was that comment of the nasty taste of bacta that had ideas flitting through her mind like little bolts of electricity...yes she could think of ways to help with that, simply grabbing him where he sat and kissing him was one of them, but everything was against them once again when they had heard that door chime. As usual, her mother had perfect timing.
"Oh I assure you, you didn't dream anything to do with that remote...." Khari responded quietly, not wanting her voice to echo in the room's tiled space anymore than it already did, lest Anara actually hear she really was in here.
How were they going to explain away this one? Tress didn't even have any proper clothes! It wasn't as if she could tell the woman he'd just stopped by to discuss what had happened at the hanger if all he had to wear was a hospital gown, one Anara might well remember if she had indeed been the one in the lobby who'd goosed him on the way up here. There was nothing for it, he had to stay out of sight, quiet and remain there until the coast was clear.
"...That was quite real, as is this. You're going to have to stay out of sight, I might be able to explain away a lot of things but this is beyond my capacity to exercise subterfuge."
Looking at him apologetically, she grimaced visible as yet again the door chime rang out it's sickly melodic tune which she was almost certain had a duff note. They really needed to get that fixed.
"Khari? I can hear you talking in there, let me in, if I stand around out here much longer there will be a whole news crew up here..."
The woman was persistent, she'd give her that, now Khari was starting to see where she'd earned that stubborn streak from. A whole news crew however, did not sound in the least bit good.
Tress was still oblivious, of course she hadn't really explained anything and it wasn't fair to leave him in the dark. He would eventually meet her properly one day no doubt, be it in the political arena or on her own home turf. Personally, Khari would have preferred it be the former than the latter, Anara was something of a predatorial force on her own territory and a lush with it. One thing was for sure, Anara wasn't going away now.
Sitting up again with his help, she wrang out her waterlogged hair and dropped her gaze, the parting suds giving her a spectacular view of what had been waiting for her. So it was with a weary sigh that she leaned forth, reached out to brush her hand lightly against Tress' cheek and draw him in for a lingering, apologetic kiss...no rest for the wicked.
"The woman who appreciated some of your 'finer points' in the hall...my mother and she cannot find you here, not if there is a news crew sniffing around. I thought they had retired for the night, I guess not. They were here earlier, trying to ascertain what had caused the scene in the hanger. They're trying to get some sort of exclusive, what she has to do with it I do not know." Shaking her head slowly, Khari shrugged, "She probably just showed up for her own reasons and now it's become a media frenzy, but she isn't going away...."
This time they heard a knock on the door, that seemed to snap Khari's attention away from their discussion a little harsher than the chimes had. Karking woman, didn't she know the meaning of privacy?
Evidently not.
"Khari! I have some important information you need to hear."
Another sigh permeated the resonantly tense silence, leaving her no choice.
"I'm bathing, this is hardly the time to -"
Before she could utter the following 'speak' the main door lock cycled and the door opened, letting in with it the sounds of several people outside, each of them shouting their questions in Anara's direction before being partially silenced when the door slid closed again and the lock recycled. Sounds of heels clicking across the marble floor had Khari shooting Tress a wide-eyed stare imploringly, before she did anything else, she grabbed him by his good shoulder and tried to pull him down under the water.

So it had been real, he thought mischievously. Got her even while out of things, maybe he was as good as he thought he was. Inflated ego aside he wished he could have seen her reaction as the whole things went down.
Though that chime again was heard, he looked over his shoulder to the direction of the sound. Stay out of sight she says. Why? Who was it anyway? "Khari, do you have anything to tell me?" sighing he looks at the waters surface and smiles. "Want me to hide in the closet?"
That shocked him and he turned and asked incredulously. "Your Mother !?" that woman with no shame pinching and groping him had been her mother. "that handsy forward woman having a feel is your mother !?" but before she could answer he was being pushed underwater. Stars, she was trying to kill him...that was her revenge.
He thrashed once, then realized she just pushed him under not keeping him there. Thinking ahead he bypassed her hand and surfaced in time to hear someone else speak. Grabbing that hand he grins. Let her deal with the consquences of denying him and breaking the rules of the deal. For that dunking she deserves a suitable retaliation and the hand would suffice. Pulling it to his mouth he bites her, holding hard against the possible jerk reaction she would have and applied more pressure trying not to laugh.

His earlier accusations had her up in arms, what was he implying? But when he added the next few words to the mix in surprise, she couldn't help but sark right back at him.
"No, my well mannered not at all intrusive mother I had hidden away for precisely this sort of situation...yes that one! Who else were you expecting? And don't give me that hiding in the closet stuff, you know I have always been honest with you there."
It was moot anyway, because she had pushed him under the water before he could reply, and as he went under, she heard the footfalls in the hallway draw up towards the door until the light from the small vestibule cast the tall, slender shadow of a human female, preceeding her entrance. Had she no shame at all?
Anara Vestra, a woman of middle to twilight years though you would not have thought it to look at her, stood in the doorway, paying the fact she had just barged in on her own flesh and blood in the midst of trying to relax - or so it seemed - no mind at all. For all appearences, she looked much like Khari herself, though the obvious signs of age had been well disguised via various means, she was clearly older, her dark silver hair held up in some form of elaborate headwrap that gave her a regal appearence when accompanied by such formal robes. No doubt she'd come straight from some meeting or another, seen the reports and decided to get an account of events straight from the source.
"There you are my dear, don't worry stay right where you are, I'd say I had seen it all before but well, that wasn't really my job was it?"
No shame at all, and it had her cringing in profound inner agony, her mother was trying at the best of times, but now wasn't anywhere near the best.
"Anyway, I didn't come here to interrupt your respite for no reason at all, there is, as I mentioned, a far more important matter to discuss and this won't wait." Anara enthused as she took a glance around the richly appointed room...a little small for her tastes but as a temporary stay it wasn't bad she supposed. "Hmm, impressive for the pricetag I suppose.." She mused frippantly.
Khari on the other hand, was not impressed, not at all, add to that Tress - now submerged- seemed to be searching around for something...and he found it, her hand. What was he doing down there?
"Have you no respect for my privacy? I specifically told the doorman that I did not wish to be - " Now she realized what Tress was doing, and it was too late to recover her hand, right before he planted it between his teeth and bit down onto it, not hard enough to break the skin, but adding enough pressure to make her shout the last word of her sentence a shrill cry. "- Disturbed! AHH!"
He was mad, he'd lost the plot, was he trying to leave a mark?! Well one thing was certain, he wasn't letting go. She pulled back on her arm with a stiff jerk of a movement, but he held it fast and applied more pressure. The kuati bit down on her lower lip with a hiss of pain, he was just messing with her again but that didn't mean it didn't hurt, he was trying to force her to react against him. Didn't he realize she hadn't been trying to off him when she'd pushed him down there?!
Anara frowned, appearing disinterested in her daughter's protests, apparently misreading them completely.
"There's no need to behave that way about it, if you wanted me to cut to the chase, just be outright with it."
Khari didn't care about the agreement right about now, her hand stung too much, Tress was going to pay for that, and pay dearly. Drawing one leg back, she issued a short, sharp push with one foot against his side, trying insistantly to get him to let go. All that would have been visible to her mother was her head over the side of the tub, so that was fine, but if she agitated herself too much, it would be very obvious she was doing something there.
But it was a bit late for that, the older Kuati woman was already looking at her funny, and no ammount of closing her eyes would make this woman vanish from Khari's presence.
"Are you sure you're alright?"
"Yessss...." Khari hissed, trying to make it sound more like an exasperated sigh than an admission of pain, "....Please, go on."
Not what one would have called content to believe her, but at least not nosey enough to inquire again, Anara continued imperiously. "The Kadnessi have called for a meeting of the Ten, to discuss what has happened of late and concerning a few key matters you really should be privy to. I think you'll find them interesting. In light of Kaur of Kuhlvilt's murder, some of his family are calling for justice and why shouldn't they? I know you would have been required to attend anyway but I thought you should at least be appraised of what you were walking into ahead of time."
How thoughtful of you - thought Khari inwardly, this wasn't an unexpected turn of events but it wasn't welcomed right now either...this could have waited until later, but she supposed that the sooner this happened, the better.
"When?" Was her only question, still trying to pull and wriggle her arm free, wringing another muted exclaimation from her lips.
"Three days from now. I can go into more detail, if you wish?"

There he was with most of his body submerged under the water and cause they had been in the middle of something intimate before getting interrupted, there was now a periscope jutting out of the water. Though that wasn't the most impressive thing he had going, not by a long shot. It was his teeth firmly attached to the fleshy part of Khari's hand as he bit her. The more she tried to get away, the more pressure he applied. It wasn't to injure, just for her to deny him what he wanted and thus break the terms of the deal.
The conversation happening caught his ear and he stilled and listened. He had just won the terms of the deal were breached and now for the fun part. The kick was uncalled for he thought frowning, just his luck he didn't go under and come sputtering water everywhere. Would serve her right if he had.
Gloating over the win just now would be fun, but maybe some fun was in order. After all it wasn't everyday the mother of you...., what was she? Girlfriend? Partner in crime? Whatever title you wanted to name it as, he was hers and proud to be so.
So what should he do? Poke Khari until mommy dearest, the bum pincher, noticed things. Maybe reveal himself- discreetly of course. Slide up beside Khari and kiss her, embarrass her in front of her mother with an opening line. "Well hello there, I must not have heard you come in. You see i was exploring underwater mysteries...well, never mind that. Who might you be?" It was innocent enough, besides he own the handsy forward Kuat a ting or two.
He made up his mind to spring things on them. His hand traveled up Khari's back, while the other hand snuck its way between her legs to find purchase at the bottom of the tub so he could lift himself up right behind her. Resting his chin on her bared shoulder after the slow kiss he placed there, his injured arm wrapping around the front of her to rest with a wince. The slight pain he felt wasn't in his voice as he spoke. "Well, hello hello, we meet again...your the forward handsy woman from downstairs." He looked at Anara and grinned at her, but it was khari he kept a hold of.
"Have you come to turn down the beds? If so you should start now don't you think?" he looked innocently at Anara. This was going to be good, and well worth it from all angles. "Before you go can you order us a nice dinner for two, I am famished....this one here." He says indicating Khari with a hug. "Makes a man weak with her insatiable appetites."
This was it, soon the dam would break and the fun or Nine Corellian hells would be unleashed. He hoped he hadnt read Khari wrong about her mother, and would be ok with putting her in her place in a small way. Could be worse for him if they both set their sights on him, in the end it was so exciting waiting for the hammer to fall....

"Details would be appreciated, though can it not have at least waited until morning? I have been on my feet all day and as you can see i'm just trying to relax here." Khari was still speaking as she tried to wrench her hand away, but he just held on harder, testing her resolve not to give voice to the irksome pain. He had done this on purpose, what did he expect her to do, sit there and take it?
Anara was still looking at her curiously, evidently she had expected someone else to be in the suite with Khari, since she had heard her speaking with someone when she had been trying to gain entry. How she had done that, Khari didn't need to ask, she'd probably badgered some orderly, or the manager himself, to distraction until he relented. Either that or uttered a well placed threat, as a senator you tended to hold sway over a lot of clout.
"You have me there." She said with a polite smile, "I do have other reasons for being here. There have been questions, of late, concerning just how you rose to prominence and attained - " Anara gestured around her encompassingly with a flourish, "-all of this."
Khari's frown deepened, her blood running suddenly cold, no one knew the truth, not even her mother. And that would be the way it stayed.
"I have heard as much, yes." She replied as evenly as she was able, the pain in her hand growing stronger.
"There are those that are suggesting that you had something to do with the death of the former CEO, that this is possibly linked with the murder of Kaur Kuhlvult..."
That had the raven haired woman up in arms with outrage, now that was preposterous, a happy accident maybe, but ludicrous. She would never have dared been directly involved in a coup of that kind, political assassination wasn't beyond her, but she wouldn't have done that to Kaur, too many ties to her in rivalry.
"That's ridiculous, there was no love lost between Kaur and I, I will give you that much, but enough hatred to have him murdered, and by his own telbun no less? Do you think me that foolish, what possible reason could I have to want that so much?" Khari snapped, the edge in her voice more down to the teeth still clamped around her hand. This time, she wriggled her fingers, twisted her wrist, trying to pull free from an angle he wouldn't be able to hold onto.
"I have reason to believe he was collecting evidence against you, my dear. Were that evidence to see the light of day..." Anara said, but she knew better than to be surprised.
"It won't." The younger kuati intoned curtly, "Because it does not exist." - at least, it wouldn't once Khari had reviewed the files that were on the datachip Klask had given her.
Finally, Khari was able to pull her hand free, fresh pain blossoming in her flesh as the blood rushed back to the pressure points, making her wince visibly, and turn her gaze away from the woman standing in the doorway. But she was to be surprised all over again, Tress was sliding a hand up around her back, manouvering to a place that was surely going to get him seen and she had no idea that was precisely what he intended to do until he surfaced behind her, grinning like the felinx that had just got a nerf steak. Was he insane?!
The small kiss he issued her shoulder did nothing to relax her, no relaxation had gone right out the window and indeed the world when he actually said what he did. She wanted to sink down into the sud-laden water and hope the ground beneath would swallow her up.
And as expected, Anara was not impressed...
"Khari, were you aware there is a naked man in your tub?" She commented dryly, not that she had room to talk, Khari could remember some choice attributes about her dear old mum that Anara would rather she would forget.
Playing along just as dryly, she turned her head to look at him, still resting there against her shoulder, and smiled thinly.
"I thought every tub came with one of these, do I take it that is not the case?"
If she was hoping to find some kind of mirth in her mother's expressionate eyes, then she was to be disappointed. The woman looked more unimpressed than ever, with a glance to her daughter that simply said ' I expected better of you.' And when she did dare to open her mouth, nothing plesant came out of it.
"Please tell me this isn't your choice in telbun, I don't think I could live with myself knowing you'd picked someone so...uncouth."
Her daughter was sputtering trying to hold back her surprise, that had totally been uncalled for, though she couldn't exactly praise Tress for his timing, it was pretty terrible. It wasn't going to help them if Anara decided to go and speak to others about this, but that was doubtful since Khari's disgrace would mean disgrace on her too. Which was probably why she'd turned her nose up at him. That or she didn't want to appear as if she'd been the one to goose him as he was suggesting. Aptly, she left that part out. Khari, however, wasn't anywhere near as forgetful.
"Uncouth enough that you took a fancy to him though? We can't be too dissimilar, mores to the pity." That sharp tongue of her's she really had inherited from the older woman, she thought it might be enough to buy Anara's silence, but Tress was about to make things much, much worse.
Slowly, Khari raised a hand to cover her face, letting it simply rest there while she made a small noise of disbelief. Bad timing didn't come into it, this was possibly the worst time to joke around, and more to the point, the worst person to do it with. She was never going to hear the end of this. Her skin burned red with embarrassment, how was she expected to live that down, there were just some things people weren't meant to know, especially family!
"Excuse me? Who do you think you are?!" Anara swung to look at Khari, "Are you going to let him speak to me like that, about you like that?! I should have him forcably evicted!"
If some force had come and obliterated her from the space she now sat in, Khari really would have been grateful. Now she realized why Tress had done what he had, to make her break those damned rules again, if she agreed with Anara...which frankly, she did to some degree, then she would be violating their little terms and adding more time to a debt that just kept getting bigger. Oh he was really going to pay now. She didn't feel bad about having his ship painted pink after all, it could stay that way now for all she cared!
There was only one thing for it...to divert.
"Tress, this is my mother, Senator Anara Vestra..." An introduction wasn't the best thing she could have come up with, but it was the first. "Mum, this is Senator Tress Odak-Z...Odak, of Anaxes, he's been liasing with us on behalf of the RGE."
Anara regarded him through narrowed eyes, looking down her nose at him essentially. "And taking his job very seriously I see. I will have to remember this one when next I am required to liase between worlds."

He ignored all the defensive posturing from the older woman, it was all ruffled feathers anyway and a way to appear better then him. Kuati and their cultural differences made them think those beneath them were nothing. Better to play with fire and give her a taste of her own medicine before she thought she had gained the upper hand.
It was Khari he was having moments of self reprimand about, he was embarrassing her or putting her in a bad position. The rules were off on this one, let her chose freely, his love for her was that great. Even both against him as he saw it, wouldn't matter, cause it was going to get fun locking epic hornz with her.
All he did was grin at Anara. "So you let your daughter fight your battles for you? If so then you truly are dismissed." He waves his hand, wincing visible, maybe the pain meds were wearing off now. Every movement hurt him. He needed more healing it seemed.
"I am on medical leave...so take your sarcasms and your trumped up superior attitude out the nearest air lock." he tells Anara, but it was to Khari what he says next. "Do you think she puts on this air of Social whore to make me feel inferior? Would she really hate me if i told her a secret...?"
"What don't like the truth? You come here and demean me over my appearance, call me a telbun and all this coming from the woman who had a feel down at he lobby." he points again a hiss of pain accompanying the action. " You call me uncouth, but what of your actions. The parading around with news teams and loyal sycophant's following blindly. Its all about you and what you can get out of it..." he gets up needing a drink for the pain he was feeling now. Soap and water still dripping off his body as he steps out of the tub. "Maybe i am just as uncouth as you are....everything will be about 'me' for the next forty eight hours. Khari..." he nods to her as he wraps a towel around himself. Then whistles a jaunty tone called "smelly pirate hookers" from the Max Rebo band as he walks out of the room

This was actually happening, it didn't matter how many times she blinked, Tress was sitting there getting into an argument with the one person he really didn't want to be arguing with. But then he was a politician, what did Khari know? She wasn't fighting him on this one though, her mother was a law unto herself, like most of her kind - sometimes herself included - and as such often received harsh criticism, this would be no different.
When Anara dared sweep that scathing gaze in her direction, Khari cooly held her hands up and shook her head, she wasn't getting into that one. There was a reason she hadn't followed in her mother's footsteps and gone into politics and she was sticking to her guns on that.
"I'm not fighting anyone's battles for them. You're very capable of doing that yourself."
But she could tell by the way Tress was resting behind her that he wasn't done, everything about his posture said offence was the best defence. If she spoke up and warned him off doing so, then she would be seen as supporting Anara, something she really wasn't doing, blood might be thicker than water on many a world in this galaxy, but on Kuat your enemy could literally come from anywhere. Backstabbing wasn't frowned upon if it was successful and benefited the masses either. It could go either way.
"I am on medical leave...so take your sarcasms and your trumped up superior attitude out the nearest air lock." he tells Anara, but it was to Khari what he says next. "Do you think she puts on this air of Social whore to make me feel inferior? Would she really hate me if i told her a secret...?"
Khari didn't need to look at Anara to know she was fuming, she could feel the flames from here and Tress just kept fanning them. Gently, she sought out and squeezed his hand beneath the surface of the water, urging him to leave it at that but this wouldn't stop her mother, who was going to respond no matter what.
The older woman was positively seething by the time she replied.
"The only one whoring around here appears to be you, Mr. Odak. Is hawking your wares in public a practice exercised by all the people of Anaxes, or simply the impudent?"
Beneath the water, Khari was still holding onto Tress' hand, silently imploring him not to continue this any further than it had already gone, because that, she knew, was just the opening salvo and it could only go down hill from here.
"Tress...it's late, I really don't have the patience for-" She began, but as expected, was interrupted by Anara, clucking away on some petty crucade to show this 'inferior' up for what he really was. Khari had supposed that by intervening and speaking to Tress, as opposed to her mother, she might be able to avert disaster, but no...apparently that was too much to ask for. And she couldn't say Anara didn't deserve it...she always did.
"No no, let him speak, I am sure we would all love to hear what scintillating views this fool has to say...so go ahead. Don't let a little thing like your own brand of superiority complex hold you back dear. It will be entertaining if nothing else."
And all Khari could do was sigh - so much for peace.
And there it was, all out in the open just like that and all of it pretty much true. He'd hit the mark there and the outrage that boiled beneath the surface of Anara's demeanour, leaving her almost shaking with anger were it not for that rigid control that enabled her to at least pretend to be calm in a heated situation. But in her defence, Tress had just walked all the way here in a backless hospital gown, everything on display bar the bare essentials, what had he expected as a reaction? Well, there was always Khari's herself, but even she had been surprised to see him like that.
"Oh yes, I said uncouth and I meant every letter." Anara spat, even deigning to laugh a little at the audacity of it all "Everything has been about you since you...emerged when you did. Slinking around as if you own everything that encompasses us and somehow you seem to have coerced my daughter into trying to cover for you. Your opinion of me is just that, your opinion. Which I believe is based on precisely the same ammount of information you have on me. The difference is, you have just sat there and proved me right in mine."
Tress was already up and moving, getting out of the tub with a noticable slowness to his movements when it came to moving that injured shoulder. However, he had a noticable skip in his step when he procured the towel, which happened to be folded over a rail Anara was standing next to, and exited the room. Anara made no attempt to look away, and that po-faced disgusted expression never dissipated either. He might have been nice to look at but that was where the fascination ended, he only needed to breathe in the wrong key and she would have torn him off a strip.
Khari begrudgingly let him leave too, but when he had nodded in her direction, she had gestured for the other woman to pass her the remaining towel on the rail. Instead of complying, Anara glared back disapprovingly at her daughter, and the scathing words that followed grated heavily on her nerves.
"No, you do not jump when that...thing, says so, I brought you up better than that."
"As I recall it, by the time you decided to take it upon yourself to have anything to do with my upbringing, I was almost of age." Khari replied stoicly, way past the point of caring, she rose from the tub and crossed the distance to take a towel for herself, wrapping it around her body before turning back to the other woman, "If I jump, it's because I choose to. Nobody but me decides, but you know this already."
Now she supposed that her own concerns were if Anara was going to blab any of what she'd seen here to others, or worse, hold it over her for the worst possible moment, or if Khari should turn against her.
"I will take what you have told me to mind, any further details can be furnished tomorrow, I have the basics yes? I can consider it carefully and go from there. Right now, I need time and space to do that, there is much to consider....now, if you please, I would like to make a start on that?"
At least this time Anara took the hint, albeit with a haughty posture and a casual roll of her eyes. As she walked out to cross the main living space she totally blanked Tress with purpose, giving Khari cause to follow on out and mirror the exact same eyerolling that the older woman had displayed to her seconds earlier. Only when the door had long since closed and showed no signs of reopening, could she completely take stock of all that had just happened there.
That and she'd just left quite the trail of wet footprints halfway across the living space floor. With an exasperated, yet relieved, sigh, she settled against the armrest of one of the suite's ornate chairs and looked across at Tress, managing the semblance of a smile.
"All about you? Social whore?....just when I think you couldn't possibly surprise me anymore." She mused with a small chuckle, "She had one small point though, I will need to walk into that gathering with a plan, this is the big one...if you'll uhh excuse the euphanism."

He didn't even bother to answering back, even when she had spoken to him. The point was to hit hard and leave her venting, thus getting the upper hand, well thats how it worked out in his head. He just had enough of people using their office to climb social ladders and make more prestige for their families. It should be about the people you served. Like him, he profited from the people sure, but it was returned to them in little ways when warranted. It was the people he served and it was that reason he gave back something in for form of a statue. Nestled in the center of the Capital on Anaxes was a statue of himself... That didn't make him a social whore like Anara Vestra, no that made him a man of the people, in a mockery sort of way. They loved him after all, he wouldn't go into how he had bribed and blackmailed his way into office. That he saw the whole judicial system as a huge joke. It was just a different venue for a criminal, one that made things almost legit if used the right channels and pretenses. Left to his own devices he sat and waited while drinking a stiff drink. So when he heard them walk into the room he turned and looked at them with a hip resting against the bar. He eyed Anara, but it was Khari his thoughts went to. Had he just ruined things again? Would she tolerate his antics or send him packing. Thats what he worried about. He grinned almost embarrassed at that. "Sorry, about that..." he starts off but realizes that apologies would have to wait. "So whats the plan?" he wanted to hear her views before he tried something out and voiced his own thoughts on the matter.

Regarding him standing there, propped up against the bar and clearly in his element, Khari viewed him for a second or two with an appraising eye.
"That was mean...but probably well deserved. I'm not sure she'll ever forgive you, however, so perhaps don't expect liasons with Kuati senators to go over too smoothly in the meanwhile, hmm?" She wasn't serious by any stretch of the word, Anara needed taking down a peg or two every so often, she'd done it herself when the woman became overbearing...as always.
But out of sight was out of mind and she was keen to get back to the thick of things. Clapping her hands together once, she attempted to outwardly portray some form of zest and then joined him at the bar for a drink...they both could use one.
Taking a long, soothing sip of her drink, she cocked an eyebrow at that question - yes, that was a very good point, what was the plan? The plan was simple, and it was an avenue of attack, not defence.
"My assumption is that the Ten will wish some form of action to be taken, swiftly, decisively. This has embarrassed us, Tress and as your grandfather would have known, it's not something we take too lightly. If one succeeds to do so without firm retribution, then more will try and before we know it the entire system will be hit by every force-weilding pirate this side of the core."
Carefully readjusting her hastily thrown on towel, she set the tumbler down on the bartop but for a moment, taking that moments pause to recollect her gathering thoughts. "Since I am one of them, that makes deciding what to do a little easier. We're going to give them what they want, occurances like this have been going on for as long as there has been sentient life in this galaxy. Think about it, every major galactic war that has wrought havoc on countless worlds full of innocents, who were at the core of it all, nearly each and every single time? Particularly in recent years. And each time it happens, we are reassured that the Jedi will somehow 'save' life it's self and are here to serve peace...I have seen little of that displayed in their actions of late. Is this Corey Dooku not a Jedi of sorts? An order alligned with a world that serves this 'balance' they seem to venerate?" Shaking her head with a derisive scoff, she picked up the tumbler again and drained it's contents outright.
"Something needs to be done to regulate them, or are we, the majority of beings in this galaxy, simply to sit back and let them destroy everything around us for the sake of their precious force, suffer because they deem the destruction 'necessary' to attain their form of peace?"
Realising for the first time that she had, in effect, gone off on a little bit of a rant, she winced apologetically, which looked rather alien on one so confident in herself. But there it was. Tentatively she stepped a little closer to him, running one index finger lightly down the center of his bared chest and then looked him in the eye expectantly. "But sorry, you were going to say something?"

"Much prefer liasons with the director...she bares some personal attention" he would have answered, but she went on a rant.
He let her go, giving her room to vent and he listened to it all. She had some points there. Some he whole heartedly agreed on. Most if not all problems stemmed from force users in general. From their mad rush to galactic domination to others sticking their noses where they don't belong just cause they though it was their right to protect the masses.
It was even the governments fault for supporting them, using them as secret enforcers or to them falling for the lies they were told. The point was, it was becoming a problem. There was no laws having to deal with them as a whole. They could do what they wanted, and others suffered for it. This Falleen for example, he was unknown, but could be a force user. Even those known to be force users acted out and nothing was done to them. Things would have to change drastically to limit them, they should all be gathered off somewhere in the unknown regions together. The Galaxy needed a police force strong enough to deal with them all.
Maybe it was time to set things in motion.....
He looked her up and down and nodded slowly. "I like the way you think. First the TEN, then we can go to the Senate to bring these charges to them....see what they have to say about it. " the imperials had since palpatine been anti Jedi, either forcing them to join them or killing them. He guessed it still to be truth, after all they had arrested the Kage and his pet droid. "What do you think the RGE did to the Kage and his pet..?"

Khari gave a single incline of the head affirmatively, "The ten are moot, I already know which way this will go, a few surprises and dissent about my still being here no doubt. The Senate however, that is where things will become difficult. The Jedi have a lot of supporters out there, though as you yourself are aware, the Empire, reconstructed or otherwise, doesn't exactly hold them in high favour. We should pick our arguments and angles carefully." With a flourish she set about drying herself off a little, there was little point to standing here creating little puddles all over the place that they were likely to slip on before the cleaning droid arrived.
Now there was a question, she hadn't stopped for a second to consider it. The Colonel may well have the intel on that one, but the exact fate of those two miscreants hadn't been told to her. It was something she might just have to follow up prior to speaking with the senate, the last thing they needed was some little nasty detail like that cropping up where they least needed it.
"If they have any sense, detained them permenantly. The last I heard they were required to carbon freeze them in order to transport them to the Atrocity. For all I know they could still be in that state, it's out of our hands now. And since we made this dubious alliance with the RGE...it would be better for relations if we didn't criticise their methods too much. Yet."
Having meandered her way a small distance away from the bar, drying herself as she went, she discarded the towel to one side, draping it over the arm of one of the compact dining area's chairs. Paying little mind to her state she glanced around, apparently looking for the robe she'd left in the other room. Realizing that was what she'd done absent mindedly, she decided against going to fetch it out of sheer laziness...it had been a long day why shouldn't she be. And since they really wouldn't be disturbed now, what was the harm?
Once glance out the expansive viewport did make her wonder though.
"I'm sorry about the bath, I really had no idea she was going to do that. But at least some good came of it, we are now more in the know and we can prepare for what's potentially ahead." She said, looking back over at Tress, still propped up against the bar...how much was he planning on having? "But you and I have something different to discuss..."
Slowly, and with a destinct sashay of her hips, she walked back towards him almost predatorially. And then, halting just under a meter away, she held up one hand: the one he had so unceremoniously bitten back in the bath there.
"This..." She was now pointing at the remnants of teeth marks on the pale surface of her flesh, "...does not constitute adding more hours to that agreement. That was, for lack of a better phrase, very underhanded. It does not count, so don't even think about it."

Well the TEN he wanted to get rid of somehow just to keep Khari safe. That it might give her more power at the end was a plus if you really thought about it. Though it would change everything about Kuat and KDY in the process. There would be one person running things and no room for board of directors. It could be worked out that the TEN families still got their cut, but the sole rule of everything would be the Vestra family. She wouldn't go for it, nor would be do it and force her to go along with it. It was just his mind wondering.
"Fine, we got the TEN inconsequential as they are....then the Senate of the RGE as possible allies of this Anti-Force moment." but how to get them to their side. What possible reason could they give them that they would take the bait. "whats the plan? We don't in fact know it was a force sensitive at work here, but knowing the publics hate for them anything could work if believable."
Ah, but did that? It was hard to tell with them. Even serving them he didn't know everything about them. For instance them keeping a close eye on KDY when he had heard nothing of it. What else could they have been keeping a secret? They craved power or weapons, case in point was the living ships. A droid force user? Thats some serious incentive. But that brought something to mind. " You think we can use that droid or replicas of him to attack. Get GGN reports flowing on the holonet?" That would get some tongues moving for the cause and help with determining if the RGE still had the droid and the Kage or not.
Stopped in the middle of of his thought process, he pays more attention to her. From one extreme to another with her. A nice political talk about plans, now this unexpected turn of events. "We do?" he asks wondering what else she had in mind.
His eyes on her as she moved closer he tilted his head to focus on her hips. She had a very predatory walk when she was in the mood. The sway of her hips, side to side, luring a mans attention. Only to get caught in the spot light. Blinking a few times he snapped out of it and looked at her hand. "Sorry about that, telbun. I was in the mood for a snack which your mother so rudely interrupted." wasn't precisely true, but she wouldn't know that. Act innocent he thought, as he held out a hand to her. "How can i make it up to you..."

"Ah well you see that's where you are wrong, my dear Senator Zann." she prounounced with purpose, tapping him lightly on the nose with one index finger for effect. "We know that one of those whom escaped in that living ship had to have been a force user. If, indeed Arri really is alive and she was onboard, I highly doubt she has been hiding some force aptitude from us all these years. Her counterpart though? To be able to fly that ship you need a certain level of aptitude in the force, it has been known to send some regular beings insane otherwise, the details of which are quite gruesome."
Her smile very predatorial, she knew she was right on that one, after all the research KDY had done into creating their own living vessels, that was one wall they had hit time and time again. This would give them the edge on that matter, and possibly help them with their search later on. That falleen was living on borrowed time, she'd get her answers it was just a matter of patience.
She narrowed her gaze slightly, not quite comprehending, or perhaps she had heard right? What had become of the Kage and his friend was no information of hers, it could be with a few well placed inquiries, and Klask still owed her for that little debacle. She hadn't forgotten that one in a hurry, more to his detriment. In fact, it might even be time to call in that well owed favour...but first things first.
"I believe the original was actually a cyborg, I do know it was apprehended with it's master and taken along with him, to where I cannot be certain as yet. It could be possible to recreate a fully automated replica somewhat inexpensively...but it would be more tracks we had to cover in order to make that story stick. A third party might be required to ensure most anonymity."
They could consider their options all they wished for now, but the meeting with the Ten would happen, possibly change things, then they would be starting from scratch, better to know the next stage of variables before concocting means of making the Jedi, grey or otherwise, look more guilty here. And no doubt the Jedi order would have something to say about these accusations. Of course, there was nothing to suggest the falleen was a jedi, but that wouldn't stop her using the example as a means of mild scare mongering.
As Tress sidled up to her, all airs and graces, she knew something she wasn't going to like was coming up, and it usually started with him pulling her strings....or more accurately, yanking on them with deliberate gusto. And yank he did, particularly irksomely, souring her expression completely with that title and reminder that their arrangement wasn't completely through with yet.
"I thought we agreed," Khari intoned faceciously, leaning in towards him without yet placing a hand on him, "that you weren't going to call me that." Whether or not he chose to listen to her was entirely his choice, he'd done it to deliberately rile her up and riled - albeit humerously - she was.
Stepping away she moved across the room towards the bar again and to the fresher device at the back of it's area, where the ice dispenser sat - a crude reminder of that first night they had spent together where he'd seen fit to wind her up with various comments about how her rear would look better with a Tress-sized handprint on it, only to get a lap full of ice for his efforts - and reached for the dispensing bucket, rattling it a few times to draw his attention that way.
"Keep talking, you look like you could use another reminder regarding consequences."
And then he added that last bit, throwing her completely off course. She looked it too, straightening with a frown marring her otherwise pristine brow, and a glint in her eye that just begged for him to tell her what he was really up to. Some offers were too good to be true but that rule didn't always apply with him, he was unpredictable to say the least and she liked that.
"You mean that? So if I were to ask you to reverse the agreement slightly, you'd do that, would you? And I still owe you for the embarrassment at that meeting with the Imperial regent. Several times over." An ominous smile crept across her lips, "Well?"

Frowning at the tap at his nose, he lifts a brow as she explained herself. Him wrong? Never. It was just a case of missing the target, or not. She did have a point there. The ship would have been needed to be accessed by a force user or the Kage himself. So that there was an indication the Falleen was a force user.
There was evidence number one. That Falleen was at the hanger bay was number two. Who is to say he wasn't in on the plan to kill them both or khari herself. Either way there could be a Falleen man hunt in the works, but it would work better to group all force users into one category. Use the old argument of not knowing who is doing what, if they were all at risk. A swipe of the hand and you could be under their control be it a good or bad person. They all wielded the power over others if the means justifies the end. "I see your point and i agree. Though what to do with it?"
"I can have it made in secret, and deal with those that know afterward. Its just to good of an opportunity to let slip through our fingers. We can use "it" to attack and put more pressure on them....in this case the Grey Jedi who everyone knows are force aware. Who is to say they aren't all working together? By that i mean the Force sensitives as a whole. Each attack committed would create a public outcry that alone would force people to speak out against the Jedi and their ilk." he goes on thinking of a plan, but it was more of an idea sharing than anything. "That is not to mention what we will be doing publicly. The Senate hearings, the lobbying to gather more people to our side. In the end there will be a movement to limit force users lawfully. If they fight...they fall into our hands."
"I did also ask how i can make it up to you...if you recall." he tells her batting his eyelashes. "I don't see the consequences of that if i am giving you leave to to make amends. I realized my mistake and offered you freedom to salvage your honor." he sort of got confused there, what was he talking about. He was babbling and didn't make any sense. Chuckling
"Well, what? I don't know the rules of this new game. What would you plan on doing if i said yes? Would you go to great lengths to get back at me?" This he wanted to know, he was going to give it to her anyway, just wanted to see where she was going with all this. It was fun after all to give up freedom to her ...sometimes.

There was a considerable risk in doing things that way, Khari thought, not only would it be falsifying the evidence, more so than simple embelishments of the truth, it would be stepping onto territory that she, herself had only trodden once before in her life. While the criminal side of things was clearly still ingrained in Tress' methods, she was far keener to at least outwardly portray an image of a clean slate on her part. The rest, no one would ever know of. But this was too good an opportunity to simply pass up. He had method to his madness and when he said they could have that droid engineered in secret, meaning there would be no ties back to either of them directly, it was highly tempting.
"And you are sure these people would keep their mouthes shut? We couldn't have them leaking that information later, or even implying they would do so in order to blackmail either you or I, that could get messy...for them." She was crisply to the point on that one, when she pulled rank and file she didn't mess about. Secrets stayed secret, that was how it worked, or heads would literally roll.
"It is something we could certainly 'field test' though I would be reluctant to use that information until we are certain what stance the senate would take on the bare facts as they exist now. Should they refuse to do anything to our liking, then we could always give them a nudge as 'new' information came to light, no?" Now the gears were really turning in her mind. Setting things up would be difficult, and no innocents should really be harmed seriously in the resulting chaos, but the reactions of those they would be capturing needed to be genuine. A pity, but necessary.
Oh how she had to force herself not to wince again at that last statement, instead simply stiffening in posture and offering a small unsettling giggle at his brief bat of his eyelashes. As if that would have swayed her either way.
"I won't need to go to any lengths to get back at you, because I already have. I think you'll find we are quite even." Khari enthusted mysteriously, she'd stopped feeling bad about the ship incident the second he'd bitten her hand, he had no idea the ammount of drama that little incident was going to cause her. When next she met with Anara, she wasn't going to hear the end of it...especially if she'd read that tattoo of his when he'd waltzed through the lobby.
"And what you said was utterly befuddling, but I can answer the last question at least..." slowly, she beconned him forth with a crook of her fingertip until his ear was in line with her lips, and into his ear she whispered her weakness as it were, or rather his. So when he pulled back, she had a very satisfied look on her face.
"Oh yes...definitely that." Khari added for emphasis, rubbing it in as it were.

Yes, he could keep it secret. All he really needed was the design for the droid model and his men would do the rest. The hard part was trying to get the necessary equipment to fashion said model.
Black market supplies could only get you so far. Though even that was pretty useless to try keep secret if enough credits were spread around. Some one would end up talking in the end for the money. Therefore, he had in mind to buy a small robotics company, through a shadow company. Shadow cooperations were easy to set up and with enough credits could purchase just about everything without trace back to them, keeping them all clear of blame.
Then from there have things built in secret by droids workers. Fast and easily who were disposed of in the end, all he would really have to do was melt them all down. None of this memory erasing for them or dismantling them for parts. No, just the complete eradication of them as a whole, as well as the entire production facility. The insurance would be well worth it.
"It bears more talk later on, if anything. Though i would set things in motion now if thats OK. Tomorrow morning i will have my investment manger search for what we need." Which meant he would end up buying a company legitimately and one under handedly. Which would cover his tracks if they- intelligence in whatever guise they came in, poked around his business. He would even bid against his shadow company to say he tried and lost, so ended up buying another one.
They were even? What was this now? In the end with a frown he shrugs and forgets things. She would get him back either way, but for now he would try to make up for past misdeeds against her. Though him talking and showing himself to her mother was not part of things. That he would have done anyway and it was between her mother and him, not Khari. So no apologies would be forthcoming for that one. "Whatever you say, Khari." was all he said in the end.
Stepping closer not cause of her beckoning finger, but for the look in her eye that had his heart beating faster. He got close, real close. The shiver that coursed his body was in response to possibly one of three things or all of them. The heated breathe from her whisper, the shocking things said from that whisper, or her hand cupping his....."whoa."
"You really want....THAT?" he asked with a squeak saying the last part. He was more than shocked. Surely they had spoken about that, but he never thought she would really go for it. The nerve of the woman, to even ask that from him. He couldn't do it, wouldn't do it, and would demand she take it back...but first, one last chance to make sure she knew what she asked. "Don't be vague, spell it out and make sure your sure..."

It would set the ball rolling and she trusted him to have all of his assets in order when it came to being traced. But he was right on the former count, things really could wait until morning, especially since she now knew she had some meetings of her own to schedule. Checking in on Klask would need to be done, the second he awoke she wanted to be notified, rather she get to him first than some snooping holonet reporter trying to ascertain the truth behind the chaos. It wasn't that the Colonel would tell them anything vital to the integrity of the investigation, no. It was that he would tell them a version of events she didn't want him to divulge in any capacity.
"Let me know how that goes, I think it might be prudent to speak with Colonel Klask sooner rather than later. If the old man survives and regains consciousness, he will be of use...one he really won't be able to neglect." Her words seemed to drip with ominous intent, though the colonel had little to worry about if he upkept his side of the bargain, the one she had yet to offer him but it was a small oversight she may well do in person.
Tress' exclaimation didn't surprise her in the very least, she'd expected that though she did draw back just a fraction to smirk at his expense. With a gentle pat of her hand against him she nodded again to reaffirm what she had said and then waited, patiently, appearing all innocence and light - which was deeply ironic considering what she'd said was less than innocent. She had meant what she said, if just to see his reaction and she was very amused with the result. Thus she won the small wager with herself as to if he would act this way.
"Why Senator, I do believe you're blushing." Khari said sweetly, obviously divining much more amusement from the physical as opposed to the verbal response. This was no mean feat by any stretch of the imagination.
"I find it very interesting how coy you're acting now considering what happened the night we met." She added, no less enthralled and taking great care to keep in physical contact with him in some capacity.
The raven haired woman hung her head, dark tresses falling into disarray around the sides of her face before she sighed deeply, shaking her head a little. Then she looked up.
He really thought she was being genuine, didn't he? It wasn't that she baulked at the idea, not at all in fact, but it simply wasn't something she would do. He should have known all along she was just messing around, trying to get a reaction out of him that would have him seriously wondering if she'd meant it. And what a reaction!
"Of course not!" Khari replied rolling her eyes and trying her best not to laugh...and failing, miserably. "For one thing, you are still recovering, I hardly think any time would be the best time for such things. And another? where are we going to get one of those at this hour?...I just wanted to see your face as I said it."
Now she really did start laughing, it would probably annoy him no end to know he'd actually fallen for it, but she hoped the follow up would make ammends for the joke at his expense. That and she really hadn't been lying when she said she had already gotten revenge on him...
"And more seriously now, I have a better idea." Kissing him then, she let her lips work softly over his, relishing every second and sensation, but not once did she let it go far enough for either of them to be satisfied. "Why don't you and I go through there," She hooked a thumb in the direction of the door behind her, words spoken low, but audible enough for him to have heard the lustful undertones beheld within them, "And pick up where we left off before we were so rudely interrupted?"
