*Having crossed the distance from Aurellia to the stronghold, Varr emerges from her ride, into the stronghold. She went to the most populated area of the stronghold, and found what some would call her protégé Myriam, and ushers her into a room, she needed to have a conversation with her. She knew the woman would be the most trustworthy person within the compound for her. So along with all the startling information, her protégé also received a payless, semi-thankless, and unspoken title of Mother Varr’s assistant. Making haste to her chambers to “freshen up” Varr leaves Myriam to take care of the formalities. Myriam quickly moves to the most populated areas, and makes an announcement.*
There is to be a meeting of all the Nightsisters… Everyone is expected to attend. The meeting is in response to our recent visitors… The safety of our lives will be the topic of discussion. You will be here… as will your friends, family, and children! All must be quite aware of what is to occur… If you are noticed missing from the meeting… I shall kill you myself!
*The younger sister hisses. She was known for her lack of appreciation of life. No one questioned whether or not she would kill them… she was one of the coldest of the Sisters. What they didn’t know however… is why the threat was issued. Myriam hated men… more than most of the Sisters infact. She had little tolerance for them, and found them useless, except for as pleasure toys and sperm banks… what else were the good for? Not a thing… So when she had heard what happened in Aurellia, she was infuriated. She would not let her people die at the hands of these outsiders… these… males! No… they would find themselves with a slit throat from the edge of her own blade before that happened.
Having heard the word, the members all scurry off to gather their friends and families in the center of the stronghold, while Myriam makes her way to Varr. Myriam knew the torment that must have been coursing through Varr’s body when she was forced to humiliate herself in front of those smelly testosterone ridden mongrels, and wanted to reassure her before the meeting… even if she did have a problem with the whole situation. She knew if Morathi and Varr had both succumbed to the monsters… it must be a serious issue. Approaching the door of Varr’s chambers, Myriam raps at the door.*
Mother Varr?
*She inquired the new title strange to her, but an attempt at making the transition less a shock for both herself and her teacher. Varr, entranced in a cloud of dark side energy to strengthen herself for the meeting, waves a hand to open the door.*
You may enter Myriam, secure the door behind you.
*She says in a guttural tone, the trance having her body so consumed in darkness that she trembled in pain. Pain she had often felt, but pain that this time had a new reservoir to grow from. The sheer hatred she felt for this Imperials, and this Takeda person. Myriam keeps her distance from her teacher, not wanting to interfere with the enrichment of her Teacher’s power.*
The group has been well informed… they will be at the Center for the meeting within the hour… is everything together for your journey Mistress Varr?
*Nodding to Myriam, Varr speaks up.*
Very well then… I will be with them momentarily… and as for my journey? Yes, everything should be in order. The transport has been requested, and you know what you are to do… in my absence, you know how to contact me should problems arise.
*Myriam speaks up again.*
M’lady, wouldn’t it make better use of my talents if I were sent to seek out the zabrak? What if those in the group need protection?
*Varr chuckles coldly.*
I would rather lose three who were too weak to keep themselves alive than to leave my people here unguarded by you my dear… I have every faith in your lethal tactics…
*Myriam couldn’t argue with the Mother, especially not after having received an oh so rare compliment from her lips. Standing from her meditation, Varr looks to Myriam with blood red eyes, and veins distended down her arms… the pale skin did nothing to hide the effects of such a power trance. *
Our people are waiting on me Myriam… Let’s not keep them waiting…
*She says, reaching back and letting her hair fall freely around her shoulders and down her back. The two exiting the room and continuing back down to the center of their stronghold, the groups gathered and all accounted for. Varr climbs atop a makeshift podium/stage and the voices carrying throughout the area silence, knowing that Varr had been amongst those taken to Aurellia, and that she was the one who could fill them in on the situation.*
Sisters… I have called you here today for many reasons, though the reasons all have but one cause. The Imperials have come and refuse to stand down and let us live in our quiet existence. Mother Morathi is no longer around, and I have stepped up in her stead. I saw much tragic humiliation while in Aurellia. Our lives may never be the same.
*Shaking her head, the woman continues.*
We are to stand in accountancy to the Imperials. They will come to count our peoples and our holdings. They have threatened our homes and our livelihood with war machines and fire power and militant tom foolery that we do not have the numbers to counteract. To ensure your safety, and your ability to have a home here, I have sworn fealty unto one Lord Takeda.
*Hearing a hustle and bustle of crowd noise, she waves her hand, sending a chill down the spines of every audience member, forcing them to look up to her and listen once more.*
Our lives will be spared should we cooperate. The Witches have agreed to their terms as well. They will contact the blue ones, and I will send three candidates to inform the zabraks. We are required to reconvene with the Imperials in three days time. So prepare yourselves.
*Standing authoritatively, still and quiet for a moment, Varr speaks up once more.*
I want Sisters Maya, Bliana, and Vlestra to head to find the Zabraks… the rest of you are required to stay here, and prepare for the meet up with the Imperials and Lord Takeda. Lord Takeda has requested my return to Aurellia before night fall. So I leave you with Myriam to take care of any problems or questions that arise. Myriam has access to reach me should a problem arise.
*Myriam adding…*
I will drink your blood and feed your entrails to the maggots that grow upon the carcasses of those whom dare to cross me should any of you offer a problem for the Imperials, or more importantly Mother Varr!!
*Varr nods accordingly, then speaks again.*
Remember!
*She exclaims more loudly than the rest of her words.*
We do this not as a means of failing as a society, but as a means of providing our daughters with an opportunity to survive and flourish… these oppressors may try to hold us down, but they can never break our bonds, nor our spirit… we Nightsisters shall persevere!
*With that, the crowd begins to disperse… the three sent to find the zabraks heading on their way, and the rest going on with their daily rituals, and preparing themselves both mentally and physically for the Imperials. Varr climbs down from her platform, and fills Myriam in on what she expects of her. The pair walk back to the newly appointed Mother’s chambers, granting her time to prepare for her trip back to Aurellia, and Myriam to ask any necessary questions of Varr, the woman knowing Myriam was more than a little unhappy with the current state of affairs.*
