"And when is that precisely?" he asked still raging over her actions. "When you shout out what the plan is from the roof tops?" If she was close by he would have wrapped his fingers around her neck and strangled her, that is how far his emotions were at now.
She would down play everything and he would never really know just how much she said or had divulged.
"You come up with something, you seem good at that..." was all he told her. Why should he help her out when he sat alone for the better part of an hour alone waiting.
"I know what i have done in my life, I don't need you to remind me. Your the one that cant keep secrets...." he was still raging, pushing buttons, probing for weakness.
"They still see me as responsible for a death. No amount of time will forgive that to them."
"Come meet me right now, the hotel across the street from yours. Now..." and he shut the line.
***
"Trust me many have tried, hes like a insolent ranch animal." hes the copy of her mother. Everything is created for them, they see it as their right cause of their birth. "Your mother and him....i see them the same way."
"Everything is beneath them, everything is made for their benefit." he stopped after that so as not to continue to go down that path with her. He could already feel himself getting angry over what he had found out. Until she said the next part.
"shes on her own, I cant trust her, khari. While i cant force her out...shes not a part of our plan anymore. One i am having to push ahead of schedule of her involvement with Prescott...." no more secrets of theirs, no more participating in their discussions. "Kuat topics are yours and hers as they always have been....but, not our plans for the future."
"We might need a recording to show the Ten, after all..." he said, looking away so she didn't see the devious plan about to be told. It wasn't bad, per say, but it was underhanded. He stopped her and pulled her close and whispered all his plan. Then as he stepped back he looked at her, "So, you understand now?"

Anara hated him like this, but this was how it always went. He would complain that she was far too calm in the face of imminent failure, and then get himself into such an angered state that he started throwing around threats. In the end he would see the benefits of her collected nature, but when matters seemed to have turned against them, this was the result. It soured her mood considerably to know there was nothing she could do to calm him down. Well, almost nothing.
"So what if they do suspect something? Without evidence they can suspect all they like, in the end it's a simple case of pointless accusation." And they'd never find evidence in time, once this was done, it would be done, with or without Khari.
There was a smidge of maternal instinct in Anara, not much and certainly nothing to be used as a good example. Rather that there was some small part of her that still wanted her daughter on board with this rather than having to take the more perfidious route and oust her completely. It would look bad on her family name, a blight on her personal reputation too. No, if at all possible, they'd just get rid of the Zann boy.
"You should have informed me of your debacle with the Zann's." Whether he knew it or not, he'd caused this as far as she was concerned, by just showing up where he shouldn't have. "But please, allow me to clean up your mess." He should have been thanking her, really.
Ah, so she had hit a nerve there, then? Anara smirked austentaciously, he was floundering in the midst of his outright stress attack, not a good sign, perhaps she should be the one questioning his capability? Petty digs at her ability to keep secrets weren't going to goad her into any further argument, she knew what she was doing, he'd just have to trust her. And she still had that connection to Tyber - had Khari told him that, she wondered. Possibly not, it was still considered a secret, but even Logan must have noticed the resemblance. Age and new style aside, she had known it was him the second she got up close. His wasn't a face you long forgot, not with their history.
"And were you? Responsible for the death of the younger Zann brother, I mean." She asked, not to rub salt into the wound, but to remind him that she wasn't the one at fault here, they could go on pushing the blame all night but it wasn't going to get them any closer to their goals.
The silence was telling, "I rest my case."
His demand was what surprised her, he was clearly in a no nonsense mood, telling her all she needed to know and taking from her very little. Anara hadn't even been able to speak out a reply before he'd cut the line dead, leaving she to wonder just what they were going to do now. Well, the voice inside her mind told her, that's obvious isn't it?
With a burden laden sigh, she stood, catching the attention of the two Knylenn's playing quietly at the far side of the room, too far to have caught much of that at all. She couldn't very well take them with her and she could only imagine Logan's reaction to them. He'd throttle them before they caused their usual levels of mayhem. The hotel had a nanny droid service, she'd leave them here where the security could be trusted, and then have a droid sent up before she left. A quick 'you two behave' and ten minutes later, had that all done and dusted.
Unwisely, Logan's hotel was just across the way from her own, and every bit as lavish as the one they had been staying in. He had to have informed the guards ahead of her, because nobody stopped her from walking right to the door of the suite she had been told that Prescott was staying in. When she did not find him waiting for her in the hall, she lightly rapt her fingers against the duranium plated surface and stood, hand on hip at a jaunted angle, waiting for him to answer, impatiently.
*****
Expressively, Khari squeezed his hand lightly, looking at him from the corner of her eye while they walked. He was preaching to the converted, she didn't trust Anara or Prescott anymore than he did, and he'd been spot on when he said they were alike, it was a wonder she hadn't met the man sooner, he and her mother must get along famously well.
"Was she ever a part of our designs? Her matters are senate matters, nothing more nothing less. She will be required if just to address them, but when we break away from the Alliance, there will need to be a cabinet reshuffle. Then, I believe, we might get our wish, but it is still dependent on the majority vote from the ten." She explained in hushed tones - there were other people walking these halls, they didn't need to hear this.
Up ahead, she could see the now guarded entrance to the business suite, looming up like the maw of some beast waiting to swallow them - albeit a very ornate and grandiose one. Khari was wondering, now, what the Jedi were expecting from this, a solution, or something more? Maybe they'd find both.
e looked at her, "So, you understand now?"
It was a good plan, and prudently legal too, so she nodded once assuredly. "I do...and they undoubtedly will, see, I knew you were good for something." Winking at him for her subtle crack, she passed through the doors just head of him, breezing into the room with a flurry of silks and fine fragrance. The Jedi weren't here yet, so they had a short time to prepare.
"And now beginneth the fun."

"Suspecting leads to them seeking answers, answers they can find if they dug far enough." all it took was on hint of what they were up to and everything would be lost. She made it sound as if nothing could or would go wrong. Apply pressure on anyone and yes, anyone could be pressured into revealing something. Threaten their family, their job...offer them credits....was she really unaware of how things worked?
"This plan was to eradicate them once and for all, all of our enemies. You were informed of that in the beginning." he wouldn't tell her all his enemies, there were legion, but Zann's were the top threat to him. Dealing with them and the possibility of taking over their interests would make him even stronger. "So clean up your own mess, one you yourself cause by speaking freely"
Responsible? According to whom? It was purely business to him, it wasn't as if he had went out of his way to make sure the Zann brat was part of things to have him taken care of. He hadn't even known until everything had happened and they were transporting the prisoners away that he found out.
We're the Zanns responsible for letting one of their own go during war time? Anything from the Vong, to rival gangs to malfunctions could have happened, yet they chose to blame him.
So yes, he kept quiet, but not over how she thought it.
That he waited was no concern to him, he was steaming by the time he heard a knock. Being alone he hit the door activation saw her standing there. He wasted no time in pulling her inside and sticking his head out looking both ways to see if anyone had seen her.
*****
"Well, when we create that which we are striving to accomplish, does she represent us in the Senate or do we even need someone? " it was hard to decide, they would control the galaxies greatest corporate empire since the Clone wars and even those would pale in comparison to what they would create.
"A delegation of lawyers tasked with looking out for our best interests would suit us better i think..." he didn't know if that would work or not, but anyone but Anara .
He told her about the plan with the fly eye along the way, whispering it to her in low tones. Though he was hoping for more from the meeting, its one of the reasons why just in case.
Entering the room right behind her he looked around and saw no one. "Seems like we are here first." he tells her and went about his work. "Droid, come here and stand beside Khari's chair." he ordered the droid as he took out his fly eye and places it against the droids center chest plate. There it would go unnoticed, but it wasn't like he wouldn't be telling everyone present. So they would know, wouldn't want them to think they were being sneaky after all....like calling in favors to the Baron Administrator.
After everything was done he looked her way and with a grin asks, " Its a nice strudy table...dont you think." joking with her to hurry the time.

Logan could have said all he wanted, ranted all day about the symantics of it, but it wouldn't undo what was done. Anara saw it as a waste of energy trying to explain this to him, he was angry, as ever, and was going to rant about it whatever way it went. Nothing ever went quite according to plan, they just needed to limit the damage for now. And, if need be, she would do that alone. One day she'd explain what it was she had over Khari that kept her in line, but as he himself had said, some secrets were better left unsaid, and that, at the moment, was her coup de grace.
And he said she couldn't keep any.
The door before her opened forthwidth, and revealed Prescott, standing there with a dark and stormy expression. A small giggle left her rather girlishly, when she invisioned an actual storm cloud raging above his head - well, at least she found it amusing.
"You know, you could look a little honoured, I don't usually do all the running." And at that he pulled her inside.
Going along with it, she didn't say a word, the rest could be discussed, at length when the door closed. And this was assuming Khari didn't notify her of the impending meeting while she was here.
****
"Well, when we create that which we are striving to accomplish, does she represent us in the Senate or do we even need someone? " it was hard to decide, they would control the galaxies greatest corporate empire since the Clone wars and even those would pale in comparison to what they would create.
That she could provide in plentiful ammounts. She knew some of the best lawyers in the core, and most would be more than happy to represent her should the need arise. There was also her regular, one person she had entrusted with such matters for years that far surpassed her ascent to CEO. They also knew a little of the turbulent history with Anara, or more accurately, her demands on her daughter.
"We should get some of your people speaking to some of mine, they have glittering resumes and a near unrivaled case record, I don't think even my mother could trump that." Inwardly, Khari wished that it wouldn't have to come to that, and yet she knew, somehow, at some point, it would.
Settling into one chair and making herself comfortable, she set out a couple of the datapads she had brought with her for the purpose of showing the Jedi exactly what damage had been done, how and some detailed engineers reports from the initial inspection. There were also those military files given to her by Colonel Klask during their meeting, concerning the imperial debacle, though she would, respectfully, uphold her end of the bargain and not reveal his part in this. What she had to show their guests, was the bare minimum where that was concerned.
The droid shuffled into the room and did just as it was asked, the obligatory 'of course' going relatively unheard while Khari collected her thoughts and listened to what Tress was saying. He had completely broken her reverie with that little jest though, to the point where she blinked herself out of it, glanced at the same table she'd set the datapads down on, and then checked her chrono - sadly not enough time to test his theory.
"So it is...one wonders why we didn't ask to be moved to this room in stead of the one we have in the upper levels. Much more practical."
She patted the seat beside her, again it wouldn't look too out of place, his being here, many Kuati politicians and business persons utilized their telbuns as aides, certainly, her mother had on occasion, and some she could think of before her. Now all they had to do was wait and Khari, personally, hated waiting.
"And if they have called in anymore favours, we should decline those too."

After landing and reaching their rooms, Cait and those who are with her take the chance to shower and change after their journey. They take the opportunity to have light meal. When they are nearly finished eating Cait is contacted by the Baron Administrator with the time and location of the meeting she thanks him.
She gathers the things that she will need for the meeting and then leaves with the others for the meeting.
When she arrives at the meeting's location she is met outside by the Baron Administrator who escorts her to door of the meeting room. He informs her that Khari and entourage have already arrived and are waiting. Cait again thanks him and declines again his offer for mediation as unnecessary. He bows and opens the door for her as she enters gracefully into the room in time to hear the following:
Cait merely raises an eyebrow at the statement but says nothing about what she heard. But thinks.. "so that is the way the wind is blowing. These corporate types are always paranoid. And Kuati's are the worst that way." None of this shows on her face which shows merely a polite expression.
"Lady Vestra you wished to see me? Now what is it I can do for you?" She notices then Tress and adds. "I thought this was to be a private meeting between you and me. I have already turned down an offer for a mediator from the Baron Administrator. Was it wise to tell him of our meeting? I was rather surprised when he met my ship as I had not told anyone on Bespin I was coming here. And is an aide and a protocol droid really necessary for this? "

At the sound of the doors swooshing open, Khari looked up from her datapad to see the Grand Master breeze elegantly into the room. Strangely, she appeared to be completely alone, until a couple of others, presumably Jedi too, entered with her at a slightly less brisk pace. As was polite, she rose from her seat and offered Caitlin her hand in greeting. This was all civillized so far, she saw no reason why they'd have room to suspect anything on the outset, and true to form, the Jedi seemed unbothered by the set up here. Good, thought the Kuati to herself, that would make things run smoothly.
The bruskness of her tone didn't surprise Khari in the slightest, she'd expected the Jedi to be a little antsy about this meeting from the second she had brought it up. One didn't walk into a discussion about the criticism of one of their own without feeling just a little protective, that she could well understand - to a point. Time to keep things pleasant, then. Little more than a quirk of her eyebrow changed the dark haired woman's expression in response when she gestured for the newcomers to take a seat at the table. This might take a little while.
"Indeed I did. I trust that the journey was a pleasant one? I would have preferred to do this in more familiar surroundings, but I think you'll agree neutral ground is best, considering." But was the ground actually that neutral? It had been the Barron Administrator who had contacted her when the announcement had come through that the Jedi were landing. Oh she had had to inform him that a gathering of this nature was taking place, how else would she have acquired such a space to hold it in? Someone as wealthy and influential as herself didn't travel without being noticed to some degree, and likewise, someone as well known and powerful as the Jedi Grand Master, couldn't have done so so easily herself. Jedi mind tricks aside.
Caitlin's observations were what piqued Khari's interest. The presence of Tress, telbun guise or not, would have drawn some interest, their kind did wherever they went offworld. But the droid? That was more common place. So she afforded her guest a rather curious smile, then shook her head in some semblance of an understanding gesture. She could but explain.
"You did not bring an aide? Perhaps I was not clear enough when I contacted you; this meeting here, it's not off the record. When I speak to you, I do so not only because of my personal vested interest in what happened aboard my orbital array, but on the behalf of the Ten ruling households of Kuat." The CEO took an all but brief glance at the droid, still standing close like a silver shadow, next to her chair. "Therefore, they will wish to hear this exactly as it transpired. My own account will not be enough, the memory is a fallable source, Grand Master, whereas a droid's memory can be accessed and replayed point by accurate point. I am unsure if you are familiar with Kuati politics, but the Ten may wish to hear the facts from more than just my lips. But don't fear, it will recount words alone, nothing more."
Gesticulating to her left, there sat Tress, as yet he had little to add to the proceedings, but that would just lend a great ammount of credit to his cover story. Very often, Telbun didn't speak unless they were spoken to, the more liberal among their mistresses sometimes allowed them to take a few liberties, however.
"He is my personal aide. He is necessary when recognizing the little nuances and needs of an organic that a droid might miss. And you have little to concern yourself with when it comes to him redivulging any of the proceedings." Khari steepled her interlaced fingers, elbows resting delicately on the sheer glass top of the table, "He is telbun."
What puzzled her more than anything, was how Cailtlin had explained that she did not understand why the Barron Administrator had come to meet them, how he had known that they were on their way. Funnier still, Khari had assumed it had been the Jedi that had put out this announcement, since she had recieved a communique from the same source, stating the Jedi were arriving. The only possible reason for him to know anything at all, was that she, herself, had requested that this meeting take place here, her people had spoken to the administrators people, and things had been arranged. She hadn't told him anything about arrival times, preferring to keep that in a larger timescale to avoid any possible ambush.
"Interesting...I merely informed him that a meeting would be taking place. He offered his services as a mediator, which were unrequired. Therefore I assumed it had been you or one of your fellows that had requested this." A security leak perhaps? It wouldn't have come from her quarter, that was for sure.
"Regardless, you know of what I wished to speak and the inevitable question I wish to ask. So I will be as encompassing as I possibly can. Not long ago you will be aware that my entire home system was in a state of lockdown, presumably if only because your gateway to the core was affected also. I am also taking into account that you will have seen the holonet reports and know exactly what, or whom, was responsible for the emergency. A one Kage Corey Dooku - though I would be inclined to change his title to Krazed considering the damage he wrought. But to give you an idea of the devastation, I brought something you might find useful." Taking ahold of one of the datapads before her, she slid it across the table in Caitlin's direction with her fingertips, a quick tap of a node-implanted finger and the device began recounting the damage toll list in painstaking detail.
"I'm sure you will agree, the list is quite sizable, and costly. The source is more what I have a quibble with. I will be blunt, Grand Master, and I hope you will forgive me for such, but this was a liberty too far: Were you aware of his capture and untimely release by the RGE, prior to me informing you?" Here was where it all began, she was building up to something and this required some groundwork. Resteepling her fingers, she casually watched the Jedi looking over the information, commending her silently for her lack of telling body language, but always keeping her thoughts relatively ambiguous just in case. Those who travelled with her were silent thus far, who could really tell what they were doing inside their minds?

He had found his seat at her side, the one she patted. Sitting there he relaxed and kept thinking it was a nice sturdy table and it was being wasted as it was just the two of them there alone. No telling when the Jedi would honor them with their presence. No sooner had he been thinking that than the doorway opens.
Seeing what could only be a Jedi with the looks of her, all pointy eared and serenity personified.
Great now his being in the meeting was the topic of the day, a lone dressed up Tress in Telbun garb was a problem....or was it the droid standing on the other side of Khari? Either way, its not like they were in the way, it was a meeting after all not some private get together or one on one conversation.
There was that word, when she said it just so it grated on his nerves. As if he was nothing but a thing, he knew it wasn't like that to her, but the underlining description was basically....Telbun equals as nothing but a breeder. Brought to mind fun things...things that occupied his mind. Letting the visions float around in his head so if the Jedi tried to read his mind she would get shock of her life at the things he was invisioning. The smirk that was on his lips was hidden by the telbun hat and veil.
With that first part he leaned over to whisper just loud enough for Khari to hear. "Typical cover up." No way the Baron would be aware of them arriving other than moments before they got there. Then to call and set up a neutral place for a "Meeting" means someone contacted him. It wasn't on the Kuat side, so it therefore came from the Jedi's side of things.
The rest was interesting enough on its own. Looking, studying the Jedi's expressions and movements as she looked at the devastation one Force user could do when they run amok. The inevitable denial they had anything to do with it would soon come up. Things were about to get real fun in this meeting.

There wasn't a part of her that didn't agree more. What did the Baron have to do with anything? He wasn't a part of this, and more prudently, knew what side his bread was buttered. Her acknowledgement came in the form of a subtle tilt of her head, she needn't have shown Tress more indication than that, it would be both improper and unneeded. Why raise the bar of suspicion that bit more by acting out of sorts. It just wasn't woth it.
Thus far, things had already gotten off on a suspicious foot. Khari wasn’t aware of the Jedi opinion on she or the company she represented, nor indeed her world as a whole, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that this one was being decidedly edgy in her presence. This was unusual on a number of levels. One, this was not just any Jedi, this was the Grand Master of their entire order, surely she should have been in far tighter scrapes than this one, more than adept at speaking to a variety of the galaxy’s denizens? Secondly, Khari had asked to meet with her to address the crimes of another, one that Jedi Windancer herself had stated was not strictly a part of their order, but another one entirely - therefore, they were here trying to reach a possible means of bringing said purputrator of those crimes to justice, in a way that would cause the least amount of agrrovation possible. Here it appeared as if she had been expecting an interrogation, questioning why she had brought an aide at all. It was a notion that seemed not only inept, but downright bizarre to the Kuati. And Khari knew, well, how various deals were conducted, coreward or otherwise.
If Windancer had come here expecting a battle, she would leave disappointed. Unless, naturally, she chose to kick one off herself. Very un-Jedi, she thought to herself, and even more bizarre.
Maybe it was a vibe she was picking up? But if that were so, it wasn’t coming from herself, all she was radiating now was surprise and confusion. Tress, then? Another unlikely conclusion, other than his usual stiff posture when she referred to him as his guise, though he should know by now that’s all it was, she didn’t see him as an actual telbun, even if the title and all of their kind seemed abhorrently wrong to him. She was sure there would be a few Anaxian customs she would bristle at, too, but now wasn’t the time to contemplate them. Reassuring him would also have to wait, even just the mere thought about reaching out to him affectionately, out of sight of the Jedi or not, could have alerted them to this being something more than a little tete ‘a tete. It had never been Khari’s intention to lure the Jedi into anything, their aim wasn’t to con them, but things were starting to look dire on their side of the fence. Dooku needed to be stopped, and someone held accountable as to why he had been allowed to continue marauding across the galaxy and potentially starting a war on Corellia and it’s system. The Corellian independence party had literally pounced on the opportunity to nay say the Galactic Alliance, and Khari didn’t blame them. It was precisely what Kuat and it’s outlaying worlds were on the verge of doing also. This Jedi should have sensed that much, should have jumped at the chance to repair relations before it was too late. Didn’t they realize what was at stake here? Apparently not.
“I will be as to the point as I possibly can, Master Jedi.” Khari tried, potentially easing open the lines of communication with frank honesty, “If something is not done to bring Dooku to justice, this will do more than damage the public opinion of the Empire. It will damage that of the Jedi, and the Galactic alliance along with it. You need only observe the situation at Corellia to see that much. Kuat and her allies are already in uproar over this catastrophe, everything is pinned on reaching some sort of satisfactory solution, and quickly.” - And that won’t happen while you sit there and pick holes in just who I allow to hear my own words, she finished as a mental note.
A tinny sounding chirp of a comlink going off forced Khari to break her gaze with the Jedi momentarily. She thought she had switched her own off...and a quick check told her she hadn’t been wrong in that thought either. It wasn’t the protocol droid, nor had the sound eminated from the Jedi’s side of the table. That left Tress. Knowing this might seem a tad odd, she opted for the option a politician like her mother should appreciate the most - she lied.
“Apologies, I thought I had deactivated that.” Sighing, she shook her head in gentle admonishment, then turned and looked at Tress with a slight nod affirmatively. Bidding him to take the communication wasn’t out of the ordinary. He was her aide, he’d be expected to do so while she got on with the important stuff. Whatever it was would be important...and since Anara didn’t have Tress’ frequency, it was best to check on what was actually happening. And speaking of her mother, where was she? Khari had half expected to have a dozen or so angry messages sent her way in various forms by now, but she hadn’t heard a peep out of the woman since leaving her with the Knylenn boys. “These things always happen when you least wish them to.” Doing her best to seem mildly jovial about it all, even she couldn’t disguise the slight nervousness she felt at the fact something could be terribly wrong. If the Jedi sensed it or not, she couldn’t tell. In any case, if something was wrong, it was unlikely to affect the Jedi, but after the hotel lobby encounter with Logan Prescott, and the knowledge that not long after attempting to speak with the man, that he had been released, well, the mind tended to conjure up far worse things happening as a direct result. Tress was here, but Prescott had known about their entire party, he’d seen them when exiting the suite she had now appropriated, and her first thought was for the safety of the two boys she’d left behind in her mother’s care. Ironically, that word took on another meaning when it came to Anara...particularly since she had known links to Prescott. Tress had told her enough to dislike the man, that her mother seemed to be acquainted on a personal level with him only solidified her disdain.
Sithspit, I should have brought them with me. If anything happened now because of that hasty, and poor, choice, she wouldn’t forgive herself - And I can add the Knylenn’s to my list of enemies.

Tress had been thinking the same things Khari had been. The Grand Master seemed to be expecting something and had appeared to have pulled strings to make it more favorable for her. How she did this and still pretended not to know of what was going on was a telling move. The where abouts of Dooku could be easily traces from when he left Kuat under the custody of RGE. Poeple could be made to speak, made to remember for credits or something else they might want. That Dooku ended up on Corellia was another point of interest to them and added to the story from his escape or eventual release from custody from the RGE hands. That alone was a huge mark against them with the Kuati.
The Jedi's involvement is what they were here to figure out. Were they in contact with Dooku? Were they sheltering him? Did they have him right under their noses and turn a blind eye to what he had done? If so they were equally to blame as the rest.
He had been looking at reports of the damage, the arrest of the Grey Jedi and then holo-footage of his antics on Corellia. The beeping had him looking up and at Khari.
He had forgotten he had his in the inner pocket of his robes. When she let him answer it he did so quickly and froze with the news. "When? I'll be right there.." he whispered already standing.
"Trouble at the med bay...I need to go." was all he said, though his eyes clearly said everything with the anguish they held. He waited just long enough to let her decide what to do, it was already to late, but she could stay and finish...."there was a complication.." then he was rushing out the door. the meeting and the Jedi forgotten with this news, all but Khari would didn't waste time and was rushing along with him.

She kept half an ear open, listening to what he was saying, and straining to hear what was said on the other end, not something she made a habit of, but she had a hunch and a knot in her gut. Something wasn't right and things just kept taking a turn for the strange. First that fight and now something more...just the way Tress was looking as he'd been speaking to whoever was on the other end of that connection unsettled her, and she could only see his eyes.
When he was done, that knot had a strangle hold over her senses and she almost feared to look him in the eye. And with good reason. This news was bad, very bad. Khari didn't have to wait long to hear it either, he was quite outspoken about it. It had never occurred to her that that might look a tad odd, but the Jedi didn't look like she walked in her sort of circles often, a small slip would go undetected in the wake of the news that had just been mentioned. The look in Tress's eyes spoke volumes though, to the point where she was at a loss for words for some moments, leaving little more than an awkward silence hanging over the meeting room like a veil of stillness.
Still, too, was Khari, watching him rush off, knowing that she should be going with him, the importance of this meeting withstanding. And while the understanding on Kuat was that nothing was more important than business, she knew, well, that this was not the case in almost all parts of the known galaxy at large. That and it just felt wrong to let him go alone, and for all the 'niceties' of the word - complication - what had happened was going to be much, much more. Now there was something those pesky Jedi really would have picked up on, and there was nothing she could do to hide it. Nor should she have to.
"Go." She whispered back to him, urging him to do what he would anyway, he didn't need her approval, she could make her excuses here and leave immediately after. "I'll catch you up." It didn't seem right to do even that much, but one thing was clear from the second the news had dropped - this meeting was ajourned for the time being.
Already rising from her seat, a little hastily about it too, almost toppling a simplistic looking glass of water from where it had rested near the table's edge. Khari caught it in time to save it from hitting the floor, but not from spilling half it's contents. Leave that one for the droids to clean up, she thought, mind whirling at what she was going to tell her 'guests' here. And as ever the words were on the tip of her tongue...maybe she had learned something from Anara after all. The thought did not encourage her.
That veneer of calm that most of her ilk seemed to possess in the most trying of situations was still in place and unshakable, for now at least, when she finally did turn her attention back to the Jedi at the end of the table. And now it was her turn to point the finger of suspicion, paranoia was a terrible thing, and this was surely coincidence, but after hearing that the Baron Administrator had somehow been dragged into this, willingly or not, she had to wonder just how deeply Prescott had his claws into everything. Their meeting here wasn't chance, Anara had intended it. Everything was getting so convoluted.
"Forgive me for this interruption but I have just received some distressing news, this really cannot wait. I have to leave....immediately." She could have furnished the details, but that would do naught but delayed her further, and there was nothing faux about this, at least they would sense no deception there in the slightest. What, though, they never would have been able to discern. Their secret was safe, for now.
Departing, and giving a brief order to the protocol droid to leave for their suite after her, Khari picked up her pace from a brisk and dignified walk to an all out run, which did run the risk of a severe wardrobe malfunction if she tripped, but a quick gather up effort sorted that outright. Tress already had some distance on her but she would catch him before he reached the main lobby.
There was only one person in the medbay, and he had taken him there himself: Tyber, who had been looking worse for wear last time she had seen him. Anara might not have been concerned but his state was enough that the medcenter had kept him there. That was as good a reason as any to be conscious of the fact that despite his reputation, Tyber was still an old man.

He hated to leave like that, just to leave her without telling her the reason for his sudden departure, but this was seriously bad. He had gotten news of his grandfathers worsening condition. Internal problems and they were critical. They had said something about having to take him out of the bacta submergence to see to him. Whatever it was sounded bad, so once he got the call he was off.
Rushing down corridors and down turbo-lifts, then she was there beside him. He hadn't even heard her but she was there.
As they got to the med bay it was all over, the doctors had just been coming out of the room. As they saw us enter, two headed their way.
"Mr. Odak?" the he looked at Khari.
"Thats me, this is my wife, Khari." he said as a quick introduction. "whats happened? Is he alright...?"
"I'm afraid there has been a complication, some reaction to some internal injuries he had suffered. The scans missed it. We tried everything we could..."
Somehow Tress knew, felt it and just stared ahead not catching the rest of what had been said. He was gone. Shoulders slumping he felt lost now.

Leaving the Jedi to wonder just what was going on here hadn't been anything more than a cursory second thought. Catching up with Tress right now was her priority, because there hadn't been anything good about the way he'd looked when he'd recieved that call. The whole galaxy could go to corellia's nine hells if something was bad enough to affect him that way. Surprisingly, it hadn't taken much to catch up with him, so much as keep caught up with him, he seemed to travel a greater distance with each and every step. But before long they were in the medcenter, and her heart sank further when they were directed to another area, and had to bear witness to that medic's dour expression.
No, this news was not good - Khari braced inwardly.
Offering a small nod of confirmation in the medic's direction, she didn't even consider cautioning Tress against mentioning that out loud. These medical types all took an oath of confidentiality anyway, what was uttered here wouldn't go beyond these four walls, or shouldn't at any rate. It was the furthest thing from her mind at present. And then the man - a rather morose sounding togruta - went on, and it was as if the ground had fallen out from under them both, Tress in particular. A blow to him was one to her via extension, she hadn't known Tyber long enough to say she truly 'knew' the man, but he was someone important to his grandson, and that made him important to her.
While the medic drawled on, Khari watched somewhat helplessly as Tress' shoulders slumped noticably, the air appearing to leave him in a long, drawn out breath. When the Togruta didn't seem to get that this wasn't really the time for facts and tribulations, she held up a hand less than placatingly. However, the look she shot him was more than enough to get her point across, she understood the news was difficult, but the details could wait.
Her hand slipped from Tress' shoulder, linking arms with him even if he didn't respond. Gently she pulled him to one side, so at least they weren't standing in the middle of a busy corridor. Wasn't there a better place they could have told him? This wasn't the time to get petty over stupid things like that but privacy would have been preferrable for his sake, not hers. Gods...she thought painfully, feeling drawn, never in a millennia could she have thought this would happen, he seemed fine...hurt, but not in any danger. What in the world had Prescott's goon's done to him?! - And that just made her feel worse, if it hadn't had been for Anara, would Prescott even have been here?
"Tress...I'm so sorry..." What else could she say? It didn't make it better, it couldn't, all the sympathy in the galaxy couldn't undo this.

Alone, lost, bereft of something, he felt all those. The man he had looked up to all his life was gone, he had always been there and now.... he felt alone.
When Khari pulled him away, he didn't say anything...well he didn't know what to do really. Lash out at the doctors? By the look of things they had tried, he looked ragged and losing patients must be hard on them too.
"Tress...I'm so sorry..." What else could she say? It didn't make it better, it couldn't, all the sympathy in the galaxy couldn't undo this.
He just pulled her into his arms and held her, comforted by her just being there. "He had always been there...I don't know..." hes voice broke so he stopped speaking. What was he going to do now?
He gave her a big squeeze and then stepped back, his shirt sleeve used to wipe away what tears fell from his eyes. "I want to see him." he told the doctor, while reaching for Khari's hand.
He thought of the boys and squeezed her hand. "Make sure the kids are OK, I'd like alittle time with him alone. Then come in, OK?" he offered her a kiss at her temple for courage, he needed it. He was feeling empty.

There wasn't anything she could say, and she hated that, feeling so helpless when the one person she cared more about than anyone was going through something this devastating. And what was more, she was just as shocked by the news as Tress was, she had expected something unfortunate when he'd said complications, but never in all her years could she have imagined this. So she held on to him, tightly, reassuring him the best she could...it was a sobering situation to say the least, especially when she compared it to the loss of a relative from her own family. It bore thought to consider later, that subject, but right now she was here for him.
"I know...I just..." Whatever it was she wanted to say, it just wouldn't come forth, she only hoped he knew that when he looked at her he would see she was there for as long as he needed her to be. It was then he'd said he wanted to see Tyber, and she understood that perfectly - she'd never have had the courage to do that when Kholis had...passed, she had wanted to, when she found out the truth, but circumstance had forbid it. In this situation, she wasn't about to deny Tress that wish. When he reached for her hand she found his quickly, squeezing it lightly.
Always one to keep her emotions in check, at least in public, she found herself floundering a little here, this was as real as it came for her, not a position she took lightly. So when holding her breath seemed to be the only answer to staying strong in front of him, she did just that, offering a genuine sympathetic smile when he went in ahead of her.
"Of course, I'll see if they haven't run rings around the old woman by now." She tried to keep it light, and when she door closed, she breathed a few deep breaths, trying to make the tension drain from her completely. Anara needed to know this too, even if she had been less than concerned about Tyber's state when he'd gone down to the medbay.
Walking back the way they had came, she paused in a niche out of the way, people passing by without event, then keyed in the frequency for her mother's comlink. Khari waited....and waited....and waited some more, each moment that passed causing the frown that had begun as a light shadow of a furrow upon her forehead, to deepen and darken. There was no reply, none, not even a means to leave a message. That wasn't like her, the only time when she wasn't available to contact, she always redirected her messages to an assistant or her telbun to pick up later.
She couldn't go back in there and bother Tress with this now, he needed this time if just to say his final goodbyes. But what if something had happened? Prescott had been allowed to leave custody shortly after she had left that holding cell, if he was capable of sending hundreds of people to their deaths what would he do when agrovated? Cursing under her breath she did the only thing she could, she'd have security go up there and check it out, while she went to rejoin Tress. They could get her here if there was anything to worry about.
"Khari Vestra here, I need you to send a small detail up to the suite, I've been unable to raise Senator Vestra on her comlink, I'm sure it's just a transmission issue, but be on your guard in any case. Inform me of any developments." Cutting the line, she headed back to where she knew Tress would be, and slipped inside the room relatively silently.

Cait stops just short of the door and hestitates for a moment when Khari offers her hand in greeting. Cait doesn't want to be rude but she really doesn't want to touch someone who can't shield their emotions. Being that she will be able to read everything Khari is feeling and has felt or will pick up flashes of Khari's history whether she wants to or not. Being an empath could really be a pain sometimes. Cait thinks with a mental sigh. Cait inwardly grits her teeth pulls her mental shields even tighter and takes Khari's hand and shakes it. Even with her shields raised Cait picks up on some of Khari's recent upsets they come through loud and strong before Cait releases Khari's hand in relief after being bombared with images of Khari's recent upset with her mother. Cait gives an inward grimace. She really hated that. Luckily none of this showed on her face though she reisisted the temptaion of wiping her hand on the skirt of her dress to get rid of the feelings and images she unwillingly had seen and felt.
Nick and Phedra have followed her into the room with Nick a little ahead of Phedra. Phedra takes one look at Khari and company and gives an inward growl if she had been in her natural form her hair would have been standing on end and her ears flattened back against her head. She really didn't like these people or having Cait near them. Her protective instincts told her these people were dangerous. Her only outward showing of this is the crossing of her arms across her chest and the frown on her face. Cait glances back at her and says through their bond. You need not stay Phedra. Your presence isn't necessary here. Phedra shakes her head and replies through their bond. I'm staying. You may may need me. I don't trust them either one. Watch your step with these two and be careful.
Don't worry about that I will. Cait answers mentally.
"Pleasant enough. And yours as well? Agreed. Neutral ground is best in these situations. Cait takes a seat and motions for Nick and Phedra to join her.
"No, I don't have one with me. I usually only have an assistant and I left her on Yavin to help the one I left in charge there. I find I don't usually need one most of the time. I understood the seriousness of this when you contacted me. I see if that makes you feel comfortable to have one. I find most of the time mine is more of a hinderance than help except when used for translating. I left her on the ship. That is why I use my datapad." Cait thens think to herself "Sure it will, I may be naive some things but I don't even believe that one." But all she says is. "No, I'm not. I'm a healer and a teacher that is where my expertise lies. I'm not a politician or a trained diplomat. Normally I let my second in command handle these type of things. He has been well trained for these type of things." Cait looks at Nick then back at Khari.
Cait gives Tress a nod of greeting. "So I see." Her tone is neutral giving not anything of her feelings away of disproval for the whole telbun system.
"Interesting indeed. As was I. No, "I " didn't. Cait says with a slight emphasis on the I. She gives a slight frown in thought then looks at Nick when he shifts slightly in his seat. "You have something you want to say to me about this, Nick? " She asks him through their bond. He briefly explains he might have mentioned to his father that they needed a meeting place and his belief that his father might have contacted the Baron Adminstrator. "I see. Well it can't be helped now." She says to him mentally then says out loud to Khari. "It seems that the one who contacted the Baron Adminstrator was the Prime Minister of Bakura. He may have been trying to be helpful. We weren't able to finish all that we needed to do there in the time alotted and he may have been trying to facilitate our return to Bakura by expediting this meeting."
"Yes, I have heard the reports and reviewed the holonews tapes on the way here as well as talked to various witnesses about this and what happened on Coreilla." She takes the datapad and angles it so both she and Nick can watch it. It didn't vary much from what she had seen before or from what she had heard from Corey on what had happened and the Imperial representative she had talk to about the incident and Corey's arrest and subsequent release. She also had talked to a certain Imperial Knight that was currently on Yavin that had been on Coreilla.
Cait nods. "Yes, so I see. Not all Lady Vestra. I perfer you being straightforward. No, I was not. I had heard on the incident and the damage to the array but not who had caused it until you told me. As to Corey's arrest and release I have talked to an Imperial representative since we last talked to find out just what was going on and what the terms of his release were and why he was released."
She took out a datapad and slid it across to Khari. "You might find it interesting reading. The main stipulation was for him to stay away from Kuat or have any contact with Kuat or you. He was to pay restitution for the damages he caused to the array. I talked to his homeworld to find out if that had been done yet and was informed those payments were still being arranged as they didn't yet have an answer to the amount from your world. Because of the terms of his release Corey could not contact you directly his world's government were handling the arrangements."
Cait kept her mental shields up and tight against the mental bombardment of Tress and Khari's thoughts and emotions. She was going to get a headache from them if this kept up. "Why do people think we would even want to read their minds most of the time? Their thoughts are either uninteresting or disgusting or both. I wish he would stop that mental projecting I really don't want to know what he is thinking." She thinks as she tighens her mental shields even more to tune him out of her head.
His whisper might not have been heard by a normal human but Cait wasn't a human. She heard him and looked directly at him when he said it.
"Then you would be wrong. There is nothing to coverup."
She turns to Khari and says.
"What is it exactly you want the Jedi to do?"
OOC: Sorry it took so long I got half of it written and got sick and I am just now catching up on things. RL strikes again.

He was thinking of all the things he had to see to now, things he didn't or never wanted to deal with really. Funeral arrangements, telling his parents, telling Urai. Control of the Consortium had been his and he was running the day to day operations but he was truly on his own now.
He asked Khari to check on the kids for some reason, he felt more responsible for them now and didn't want things to happen to them. The good news was no one knew Tyber was even still alive and if it hadn't been for medical breakthroughs he would have been dead long ago.
He had to get a hold of himself, and think of what to do next. Everyone was counting on him and he needed to be strong right now. He made quick calls, first to Urai to recall all loyal members back into the fold. Then to meet him on Anaxes to safe guard the family until he got there.
Next was to his parents, to tell them he was going back home. They didn't even know Tyber had been alive, so they didn't need to know other than he was coming home with company. He could have told them he was married, but the shock or surprise would keep them occupied while he took care of things.
When that was done he looked over to Khari
"We need to get you and the kids out of here." was the first thing he said. It was true in any case, her safety was important to him. Prescott being to close as it was and...Prescott and his men, they were really the ones responsible...and Anara. "We need to make arrangements quickly then I'm taking you to Anaxes." his voice sounded different as he said it.

((Moderatorly Note for Cait: Khari and Tress actually left the room in a rush when receiving the bad news, so she would be talking to no one after the point of answering Khari's last question.))
The first person she saw when the door slid away was Tress, though he seemed understandably detached from everything going on around him, gaze fixed silently on the quiescent form of the old man laying still in the bed before them. Kriff, it wasn't even really a bed, it was one stage away from the slab. That, for some reason, caused Khari to cringe even more, knowing it just magnified the levity of everything for Tress. He had enough to deal with without the cold clinical nature of it all.
Her prior concern forgotten for but a second, she dreaded actually invading his grief with any tribulation she might be able to deal with herself. Her comlink went off at that precise moment, startling Khari at first into making a small noise of surprise, wincing her apology soon after, and she retreated to the back of the room to hear what security had found. Tensely, she answered in hushed tones.
"Vestra here...." Listening to the response, she thumbed down the volume, leaving Tress to collect his thoughts while she replied now and then when she absolutely had to. "...I see, thank goodness for that...and the Senator?" There ensued a long, drawn out pause in which the Kuati's expression dropped to deadpan blankness, "Well she must be, I asked her to...wait, I'm sorry, did you say a nanny droid? No, no it's no problem, just stay with them until I get back. Thank you."
When she turned back to face the room, Tress seemed to have made his mind up about a few things. She scarcely had time to cross the room to meet him before he made up the distance for her, and was in front of her before she'd taken more than a couple of steps.
Soundlessly her mouth moved as if forming words for a few seconds, but in reality her mind was trying to take all that in - she understood why he wanted to do that, but it wasn't as simple as all that. They had an appointment on Corellia to keep, there was the beginnings of a war forming there and they might not get a second chance...but this? She could no more deny him this than she could let him do it alone. In the end, she went with her heart...she'd find a way to deal with the approaching storm on Corellia, their plans could yet bear fruit. But she'd be there for Tress, too.
"Arrangements, Anaxes? Slow down a second..." The change of pace was more for herself than him, he'd obviously gotten this all worked out. Tentatively, she reached out for him, taking one of his hands in hers, "The boys are fine, I had security wait with them. Talk to me...we have a room full of Jedi back there and I will need to have my people explain to theirs why we just cut our losses here and went. What's the plan."
Now came the part she really didn't want to ask, she didn't even know if she had to. "We might have a problem, however." her frown deepened, and no ammount of biting on her bottom lip softly was going to lessen it, "I left the boys in the care of my mother so she couldn't be present at the meeting. She wasn't with them when security went to check on them. They can't find her."
He didn't even have to suggest what had happened to her, the very fact that the boys had been left with a droid to take care of them showed that she'd obviously been conscious of the fact that she couldn't leave with them. Where she had gone? It didn't take a genius to work that out.

Standing over the table holding his grandfather, Tress didn't know what to do really. He looked peaceful and if it wasn't for bruising he would have seemed normal. He was about to reach out and touch him when he heard a beeping comlink and turned to see Khari.
He did resume the touch, laid a hand against his forehead whispering his goodbyes. "I love you, old man. I'll take care of everything." his voice broke as he leaned down to place a kiss on his head.
"Vestra here...." Listening to the response, she thumbed down the volume, leaving Tress to collect his thoughts while she replied now and then when she absolutely had to. "...I see, thank goodness for that...and the Senator?" There ensued a long, drawn out pause in which the Kuati's expression dropped to deadpan blankness,"Well she must be, I asked her to...wait, I'm sorry, did you say a nanny droid? No, no it's no problem, just stay with them until I get back. Thank you."
When she turned back to face the room, Tress seemed to have made his mind up about a few things. She scarcely had time to cross the room to meet him before he made up the distance for her, and was in front of her before she'd taken more than a couple of steps.
Turning away he made his way to her, he had to act and had made up his mind on certain things. He wanted the kids safe on Anaxes, wanted them all away from Bespin really. What he wanted to do was destroy, to strike out and attack like a criminal with to much power. They had to leave.
Bring her hand up to his lips he kissed her knuckles. *Plan is to get away from here, before i feel like loosing control. Get everyone to safety and the only place i know that is Anaxes." he said honestly.
"He's dead and Prescott is responsible...your mother might have some slight connection to it all."It would have come out better if his tone didnt make it seem like he was so lost right then. That he was reeling for what was happening. As of then, he was barely holding on to his rage, his need for wanton destruction at who he perceived as the one responsible.
He grew hard then at mentioning her mother was no where to be found. "Shes with him, i bet my last cred shes gone to him...." that was it for him, Anara had crossed the line.
"Forget the Jedi, they cant stop what is coming to them...let your mother stay here and deal with them if she wants." he then let her go and stepped away walking towards the door.
Outside he motioned to the doctors. "Prep the body for travel, burying him at home where he should be...."

Before? She thought, the way this had happened, she wouldn't have blamed him from going all out postal here. She certainly wanted some explainations from Anara too - there was something going on there, and it wasn't the usual fraternisation she engaged in. Prescott wasn't like Rhy, or any other of her more harmless conquests, she'd felt uncomfortable around him even before she knew who he was...and she still didn't know much. What she did know, though, was more than enough to know he was bad news.
"I don't think she would have engineered this, it was too spontaneous, she didn't know Prescott and Tyber had a problem with eachother, she couldn't have. At least I think she couldn't have." It almost sounded like she was defending the woman, and maybe she was, that hit home painfully, "Either way, I want to know what their connection is full stop, no more nasty surprises, no more..." She gestured behind Tress to where Tyber lay, looking peaceful as one could, "...of this. I'm not losing you too. If we do this, we do it right."
Khari ran a hand tiredly through her hair, she was making a mess of this while her mind raced to keep up with her mouth. He might have been formulating a plan but she was still taking stock of everything, and then there was the general whereabouts of Anara. It didn't take Tress long to come up with the same conclusion she had, though. For this, Khari was actually relieved. So it wasn't just her then.
The change in his demeanour was noticable instantly, as palpable as her own when she took caution in answering him. But she was no more pleased than he was in those conclusions.
"I don't doubt it for a second." She said softly, distantly. What had the old woman done now? She was in too deep.
"Let her deal with the Jedi when we don't know what she's a part of? That's madness." Placatingly, she held up both hands, palms out turned to fend off any rise in temper. She wouldn't have hated him for it, she would have understood, but while he sought calm, she needed to keep the clarity. He couldn't do this alone or it might be the end of him too, until they knew what they were truly dealing with. "...Poor choice of words. We should be proactive about this, first thing's first, regroup, as you said, get the children out of this and away from here, they should never have been brought along to begin with. We are going to have to speak to my mother at some point..."
Her expression, which had been tensely sympathetic all this time, softened when she glanced back over at Tyber, and she wondered that if the pang of sorrow she felt was bad, what Tress must be feeling. It hurt immeasurably to contemplate, and more so when she knew she couldn't just take that away.
"What we do know is that Prescott is the reason your grandfather is laying there. We can deal with that much effectively, stop this before it becomes something else if we take the correct routes." And by correct, she didn't necessarily mean legal - a man like Prescott had connections, he'd utilised some of them to get his sorry peace-brigade backside out of confinement earlier and he'd been smug about it. He'd known all along they couldn't hold him for long, she wouldn't mind betting he could pull a few strings and get away with what was essentially manslaughter all over again.
He sent hundreds of people to death at the hands of the vong and walked away without so much as a scratch, this will be but a drop in the oceans of Dac.
"The Jedi will keep, and will no doubt keep my mother busy for a time, I'll have her watched, though, mark my words. These things never go unchecked on my homeworld." Wasn't that the truth? Even among family, your enemy could have raised you from a child, only to stab you in the back when a business deal went horribly wrong.
She squeezed his hand again, "Corellia though...I think I can find a way to reach out to them there personally, leave it with me. We go to Anaxes."
Quietly, she waited while Tress went to tell the porter just what they wanted done with Tyber, and Khari was left to wonder just how her mother would truly take the news. From what she'd seen, they had a past, but if it meant something to her, what was she doing arranging secret meetings on a world far from home, with the one man who had killed him? One way or another, she was going to find out.
Turning on her heel, she met Tress at the door, placing a gentle hand on his back in case he turned around and accidentally bumped into her, appraising him of her presence. She could be terrifyingly quiet when she wanted to be, and owed it all to years of sneaking out as a teen when she was supposed to be studying.
"I'll go and collect the boys before they con their way around security, it might also be worth while contacting Rhy..." A headache in it's self, she knew, and was half tempted to say why worry him if they didn't have to. But the kids would have questions, and she needed to give them answers to those questions. Answers they might repeat later. "...Just in case."
Slipping passed him and into the hall beyond, Khari stopped before she got more than two paces away, then turned back toward Tress, composure cracking, as she closed the distance to just hold him. She didn't care who saw, the potential consequences, she tossed that deterrant straight out the airlock. "I'm so sorry...I wish there was something more I could do..."

Well she might not have planned things this way, but she would have known about Prescott front and back before working with him. She had to have known, was it for some long forgotten hurt of Tyber leaving her all those years ago and attacking Kuat that spurred her on to join forces with Prescott or something else. "Would you do business with someone you didnt know? No, you would check credentuals and back grounds checks. One look at Prescott then tell me you wouldnt feel the need..." he would bet Anara did the same.
To the rest he nodded, it was best.
"Would they even meet with her? The jedi seemed like they were above any wrong doing and covering up things they didnt want people to know. " Letting slip a private meeting and a Prime Minster who should be aware of political dealings making special requests to the Baron Administor for special favors. Then to say they had no idea about it. They were either dumber than they looked or novices making mistakes and doing a bad job at covering things up.
"I rather not see her ever again, I shall leave that up to you while i gain permission from Rhy's to keep the kids away from her. " he could see her using the kids to sway Rhy to her side.
He nodded again, "Ok, we can do that and Prescott will get what he deserves..." he looked at her just to apologize. "...so will anyone that helped him." she would get the meaning. Her mother was past being protected, he would deal with her just like any other enemy along the way.
He liked her fierce resolve on things, he had no doubt she would keep an eye on her mother and if it came down to it stand agaisnt her with the TEN. "Ok, you lead i will follow..." he meant it, let her figure out a way out of this mess while he grieved and thought things through on his own. Right now he just wanted her and the kids protected for the moment. Leaving her there he had to talk to the medical team to ready the body for transport. The medical bay on their ship would hold him before they buried him at Anaxes.
When she passed him he reached for her hand and offered a small smile of thanks. "You being here is enough." he meant it, she was the only one that kept him from rallying the troops and storming in to kill Anara and Prescott both and anyone who got in his way. He would even bombard Bespin until there was nothing left, but she held him off. "I'll be along right after ...this."
