"While the death toll of the virus has not grown as large as initially feared, with the current count only 1,284 dead, a cure has not yet been discovered, and yet another Senator, also a noted biologist has fallen victim. The greater tragedy by far is the approximately 4000 injured or killed in the skirmishes with security forces, or in accidents like the crash of the ship "Hapan Princess" who attempted to circumvent the quarantine early this morning. To combat these breaches of the quarantine, reserve forces have been called to active duty and various districts have been forcibly closed to stabilize the system.  The Senate will convene an emergency session later today to determine if martial law will be put into effect. To date, there has only been 7 reported cases of infections of this disease off world." |

Neither the authorities nor our sources have been able to obtain further word from Columex. Teams have been sent to ascertain what has happened to the population and if the reports are true.
The Galactic Alliance is expected to meet this afternoon to vote on an emergency powers act. Unrest grows, once again Corellia has threatened to withdraw from the Senate, though sources indicate they will be participating in today's vote.
Notice: Travel is restricted in the NE quadrant of the Galaxy. The Northern Branch of the Hydian Way and the Perlemian Trade Route in the Outer Rim Territories is under Red Protocol authorization.
