Bakura Orbit and Outer System

Bakura is a pastoral planet of the very edge of known space, just outside the Moddell Sector in the Outer Rim. It is the only inhabitable planet in the eight-planet system of the same name. Its terrain mostly comprises mountains, valleys, plains, and small seas, all of which receives a great deal of rain. The capital city is Salis D'aar, which is between two of Bakura's major rivers.

Bakura's primary exports include strategic metals, an addictive fruit called namana, and repulsorlift components.

The Serenity containing Nick, Claire, Cait, Colin and Phedra emerge from hyperspace and appraoches the Bakuran Orbital Control. "Attention Bakura control, this is the Master Cousland requesting permission to land."

A few minutes pass and a male voice is heard. "Understood Serenity. You have clearance to land. The Bakuran Parliament is awaiting you at the Bakur Complex. Over and out."

Claire glances at Nick and then grins. She then turns on the ship PA system. "Attention passengers, this is your Captain speaking, we are now on approach to Bakura. We should be landing in the next ten minutes or so." She then grins again. "Thank you for flying Jedi United."

To her right, Nick just chuckles.

Cait is up and dressed, she is rummaging through her bags looking for the last of her hair pins when she hears Claire's message over the PA system. Phedra is sitting on the bed watching her.

About time... She starts to say then bursts out laughing at the end of Claire's message.

Jedi United? Oh that Claire. She shakes her head still chuckling as she finds and puts in the last of her hair pins in her hair and closes her bags.

She picks them up and followed by Phedra leaves her cabin for the bridge.

The message comes in from Yavin IV on a secure and priority channel its from the Grandmaster's office for Nick's ears and eyes only. Aine's worried face appears on the screen.

Nick, I'm sorry to bother you but I think you should know someone just bombed Centerpoint station. It is reported that the Executor for the Empire was killed along with a high official from Coreilla. I'm not liking the reports I'm hearing. There are rumors starting to circulate that the GA was behind it. But someone that had talked to the Executor shortly before the explosion said he said that he thought he was in danger from someone there on Coreilla that he thought they might try to kill him before he left.

In fact, this not to go beyond you and the others for security and safety sake.... the Executor was not killed outright. He was badly injured but one of his Knights managed to get him off of Coreilla and to safety he is in the Infirmary as we speak.

The healers have great hope that he will survive.

The Grandmaster needs to contact Lord Ire and let him know that his Executor is still alive.

Nick looks over at Claire and grins, shaking his head. "Jedi United? Really Claire?" He chuckles quietly as Claire begins to pilot the Serenity towards the surface.

He looks up as he sees Aine's face appear on the comm link screen in front of him. "Aine? What's going on?" He listens to her and his face pales slightly. "An explosion at Centerpoint Station? Lord Zairon of the RGE was there?" He sighs and shakes his head. "Oh hell. That won't sit well at all with Ire. Dammit, this will surely be considered an act of war between the RGE and the Republic."

He nods his head when she explains the location of Zairon. "He's at the Temple on Yavin? Okay, I'll make sure to let Cait know to contact Ire at once. Thanks for the heads up Aine. Over and out." He turns off the communit.

He turns upon hearing Cait and Phedra come up into the cockpit. "Cait, we have a bit of a situation and some bad news." He then relays what Aine just told him to her.

Yeah, sorry I know not the best news, Nick. Aine says with a sigh. Yes, he is but unofficially. The healers are listing him in the records as a John Doe. Don't want those who tried to kill to know they didn't succeed until he is able to protect himself. He was badly injured. Suffered major burns and lost a leg but the healers are hopeful that despite that he will survive. They think he will be in Bacta tank for awhile though once he gets stabilized so they can put him in one.

You're welcome Nick, Sorry about the bad news. You guys hurry home soon okay? Aine out. She then cuts the connection.

Then Cait walks onto the bridge. She listens intently to Nick's news and then pales when she hears what happened. Oh that is just great. Just what we don't need another war. As if the oathbreakers aren't bad enough? Now this? She rubs her forehead. I guess I better do that sooner rather than later then.

Claire as soon as we land can you set up a link and contact Ire on Carratos? Cait asks as she sits down in a nearby chair and Phedra jumps in her lap purring trying to comfort Cait. Is there any good news?

Nick shakes his head and shrugs his shoulders. "I don't know Cait. You don't think the Oathbreakers might be behind this attack at Centerpoint do you?"

Claire looks at Cait and nods her head. "Sure, I can take us directly to the Bakur Complex and they'll have a communications center you could use."

About that time, Nick's commlink activates again and an image of a woman in her mid-twenties with dark hair appears on the screen.



"Commander. I wanted to let you know that preparations for the Normandy are almost complete. You should be able to unveil her after your meeting with the Bakuran Council. And I'm pleased to inform you that everything has been done exactly to your specifications."

Nick turns to the sreen and smiles nodding his head. "Very well Miranda. Glad to see that everything has turned out okay. I'll see you when we land then."

Miranda nods her head. "Understood Commander. Signing out." Her image in the screen fades out as the communications end.

Nick looks up at Cait and then glances at Claire. "Well, you two just met my Executive Officer for the Normandy. Her name is Miranda Lawson and she's been a good friend of mine for the last few years. She'll be the second in command of the ship."

Cait thinks a moment before she answers Nick's question about the Oathbreakers. She then shakes her head. No, not their style. They wouldn't blow it up they would more likely power it up and use it.

Cait to Claire. That will be fine Claire.

Cait watches with some amusement as Nick talks to his new second in command of his new ship.

Why is it cousin all your Executive officers seem to be very attractive young women? Cait says teasingly when he finishes.

Oh? And does Amelia know about her? She adds in an innocent tone of voice still teasing him.

Nick sighs and nods his head. "Probably right there Cait. As you said, they're worse than the Sith. That's something the Sith would do, use it."

Claire nods her head. "You're welcome Cait. Heading there now. We should arrive soon." She goes back to her piloting.

Nick then raises an eyebrow. "Very funny there Cait. I can't help it if everyone I know is young and attractive." He shrugs his shoulders.

He sighs and nods his head grinning. "Yes, Amelia knows about Miranda. She's the one that introduced us. I told Amelia about the Normandy project several months ago and she told me that Miranda would be perfect for the job, so I hired her up and she accepted."

Cait nods in agreement. That they are. And the Sith are bad enough. That reminds me of the talk I have to have with Ire. I'm really not looking forward to talking to him. She gives a little shudder.

Oh? I thought you and Amelia hadn't been talking before you went to Courscant this last time. She had been avoiding you for awhile there. I'm glad you two finally made up. It made things kind of awkward with your families so close of friends.

Nick nods his head. "Well, we'll deal with the Oathbreakers and defeat them. I know we will." He grimaces slightly at the mention of Ire. "Hopefully everything will work out okay."

Claire nods her head. "No problem Cait. We'll be there shortly." She continues piloting the ship.

Nick grins slightly and looks at Cait. "Well, I guess you could say I've been messaging her back and forth the last few months or so. She explained things to me and yes we've made up. We didn't really get to talk much at Coruscant due to me being busy working with their scientists to find a cure. But hopefully, we can talk more once we get landed."

He raises and eyebrow and nods his head. "Yes, she did recommend Miranda to me. And I'm grateful for that too. Miranda is the perfect person for this position."

He looks out the viewport and sees that they're getting close to the Bakur Complex in Salis D'aar.

Cait smiles at Nick but shakes her head. Nothing like confidence, Nick. I hope that to be the case but Oathbreakers are not an easy foe to defeat remember that. They once were Sidhe and have all the advantages of the Sidhe race and none of their integrity or honor. In answer to his next comment. I hope so too.

Cait to Claire. Good. The sooner the better. I think I'm getting shipfever being on starships so long.

Cait raises an eyebrow at Nick's grin with a twinkle in her eye. Oh? I'm glad to hear it. It is about time don't you think? She chuckles with a wicked twinkle in her eye. It is obvious she is about to tease Nick. You could always invite her to look at your ship then not let her leave the ship until she does.

Well if that is the case then I'm glad you found someone who you can trust in that position. Perfect? Hmm....really?

Nick grins and shrugs his shoulders. "Well, better than having no confidence at all then." His face then takes on a grim look. "Right. Nothing like fighting our own people who've gone bad. This is gonna be a tough fight."

Nick raises an eyebrow. "Yeah, I'd say it was long enough to be away from her." He chuckles then. "I was planning on having her go with us to the hangar after the meeting with the Bakuran Council."

Nick shakes his head. "You know what I mean Cait. She's perfect for the job. She's an excellent soldier and leader. I trust her with the ship."

Claire looks at everyone and says. "Well, we're nearing the Bakur Complex. Everyone get ready for landing."

She then turns to concentrate as the ship approaches the buldings.

~Dropping out of liht speed Tenkai groans stumbling out of one of the tiny storage rooms that had been convered into a bathroom and bedroom his normally slicked back hair sticking in all directions and his back popping on the spacial heap in time to see a piece of the ship break off and float off~ "Ok did i just see that"

~Getting something akin to an affirmative from the droid Tenkai decides to not only scrap the ship but the infernal piece of technology piloting it~ "Joy this thing is grabage personified"

~pulling out the datapad Gin handed him he skims the step by step instruction written as if they were meant for a three year old~ "First chance is get I'm hitting him over the head with something heavy" ~his voice a deep growl~

~hitting the com as the near it Tenkai contacts Orbital Control~ "This is Tenkai Xyrin guest of the Cousland family abord......a floating piece of space garbage.....requesting premission to land before this thing falls apart around my ears"

Aboard the Orbital Control Station, the on duty control officer looks up at the monitor and spots Tenkai's ship. Turning on the comm, he speaks. "Attention Tenkai Xyrin we have been expecting you. You have permission to land at the Bakur Memorial Building. Master Cousland and his party are there. Welcome to Bakura sir. Over and out." The officer switches off the comm and resumes his duties.

[Tenkai Xyrin]

~Tenkai smirks as the officer shuts off the com~ "my thanks to you" ~his smirk vanishes as another part of the ship breaks off and floats away~

~Looking at the droid he smakes the back of its head~ "you heard the officer we're clear to land now get to it this floating pile industrial garbage does not have much time left"

~Hearing a Buzz Tenkai smriks as the droid begins its desent towards the Bakur Memorial Building exiting obit~
