*** NEW RULE ***
*** Effects: Immediate for new Story Lines ***
*** Effects: Existing Story Lines - to be determined ***
This rule is a bit more complex folks and we will have to play it a bit by ear. With the demands of Real Life, we realize that people may not be around to keep Story Lines moving along to suit everyone. We have players all over the world, with wildly varying schedules, and we try to make do.
So here are some guidelines when getting involved in RP.
Check with the other players, make sure you all can and will be available to play together to each other's satisfaction. Let each other know if you are a once per day poster, more frequent, or more limited. Again, we all realize there is Murphy's Law and things come up, those cases are outside the scope of any rule that can be made.
This is a common sense type rule, talk with your fellow players. Many use YIM, and we have the C-box.
Thus:
1. If there are more than 2 people RPing, Please put up a post in the general section about the Story Line, assign one person (character) as the lead. This person will be responsible for driving the Story Line. The lead should outline how often people are expected to post, and all members of the SL should reply to the post with their level of commitment. A moderator will be assigned to monitor and if needed nudge thing along in case of a delay.
Exception: Bars, Cantinas, and other public walk-in venues.
2. Things come up clause. Attacks of real life happen, if they do please let a mod know, and how long (if you know) you will be out of a SL. The mods will be happy to contact the other players in the SL and work out a solution. Unexplained bouts of hyperspace sleepiness are perfect excuses. This allows the other characters, or a mod to progress the story in your absence without GMing your character.
3. People in storyline where there is no progress, please contact one of the staff, we will review the SL and try to determine a work around. - Staff does not want to have to GM the actions of characters, if the situation arises that a character needs to be GM'ed to "free-up" people held in limbo on a storyline, Staff will; (unless the player has previously appointed another person to do so); in the most non evasive manner that can be done and preserve the storyline. Having a consistency of personality for a character and a detailed "how I act/personality" in your bio is a huge help and make it easy to arrange the work around. When possible, npc's will be utilized to move things along instead.
Real Life happens folks, and were not trying to sweat ya on it, we do understand. Just take some precautions, arrange for a proxy for you, and let your fellow players know what your expecting out of a SL.
Thank you,
-Your Malevolent Dictator, El Supremo
