CEC Files triple lawsuit -
CEC filed patent infringement lawsuits against Republic Fleet Systems, the commercial identity of the Galactic Alliance that is a critical component of the ship construction arrangement of the Navy.
In a twist, the CEC has filed the same lawsuit under 3 jurisdictions. The usual filing was done with GA Judical at open of business this morning local time, however CEC also had its team of legal representatives file with the RGE and the Corellian Local Judical, which as of last week has declared itself a cooperative but independent court system from the GA.
SFS and SoroSuub have been included as lesser parties being brought to suit.

For the fourth day, there have been no confirmed reports of an outbreak of the deadly virus that swept from Coruscant into the North East quadrant. Most systems have opened to partial traffic, but diligence is high. Most major ports in the galaxy are still experiencing significant delays from insufficient personnel to handle inbound customs. A state of emergency still exists on Coruscant, a political maneuver to ensure manpower demands for system security.

Pro RGE forces have gained the upper hand at Kal'Shebbol. Spotty information has come in, and the Senate is divided over the matter of preserving the status of Kal'Shebbol as a GA system. Chief Executive Cal Omas has asked the Senate to choose a delegation to meet with the RGE in a summit over the matter. Other reports indicate that the GA 9th fleet has been ordered to change their area of operations to include the Kathol Rift Sector.
Official news released by the RGE has not commented at this time.

Sporadic communications from Tiona, the capital of Tion system, has announced that a populace led coup of the autocratic government is underway. Long term unrest has festered on the world, and with the influx of refugees from the recent wars against the Yuuzhan Vong have greatly increased the pressure on the existing government. Anti-authority factions have voiced that the repressive regime has so curtailed fundamental being rights that the only course of action was open revolt.
We have unconfirmed report just in now, that the Prime Minister of the planet has been killed in the struggle for Tiona.

In our Medical News, millions across the galaxy have reported increased anxiety, a sense of being watched and other unsubstantiated phenomena. Many of those effected have gone to medical centers seeking an explanation or relief, but there appear to be no effects. GNN has contacted an authority on such phenomena, Dr Gelt Habbark, who indicates that there has been a subtle increase of c-class hyperspace background distortions. While these levels are so low as to not be seen as a threat, even when traveling in hyperspace, he does not rule out that such a variation might have an impact on some beings who may be more sensitive to certain wavelengths of hyperspace influx. He points to a similar points in the past where this has occurred, and concludes that there are cycles of highs and lows that are natural and that there is no need to worry. Dr. Habbark was to join us on todays program, but his assistant informed us this morning that he would be unavailable do to an unexpected appointment.
