*Jade grins impressed at his action, due to her lose wrist she is able to swing her saber up and back steps fast. She swirls her saber locking it with Janus's.*
What does a Jedi aim for while dueling Janus?
*She continues to swirl her saber with his while watching him closely. This is a very important test in this question*

[Corey Dooku]

Corey hears Kevin as he starts to move away from Jade and Janus, he pulls his cloak tossing it to a bench across the way in the training room. He claps his hands together, interlocking his fingers making a cracking sound that traveled up his arms, to his neck and down his back. A smile comes over his face as he looks over at Kevin.

“Now that the best news I heard all day. (Looks at Jade) Now let a true Master show you how it’s done. (teasing Jade and looks at Kevin) Now take it easy on the old man now.”

Corey starts to laugh as he pulls out his saber in his right hand as the blade pulls off a white color. It was from a crystal that he had gotten from Jade a very long time ago when he wanted to be a true Grey Jedi. A Black blade and a white one, but he has given up the Dark Side.

Corey gets into a unknown form as he place his left hand forward and the right hand with the saber turning it facing the blade downward towards his rear. Bending slightly as he looks up at Kevin with a grin.

“Lets dance.”

[Kevin Kenobi]

*Kevin smiles and cracks his neck, then unclips his lightsaber and ignites it, a brilliant emerald green. Kevin holds his blade in his right hand and off to his side in a relaxed stance, but ready to go.*

Don't worry, I won't beat you up too much.

*Kevin opens with an overhand strike at Corey's right shoulder followed by a quick downward kick at Corey's right foot with his own right foot, trying to knock Corey back and off balance.*

[Corey Dooku]

Corey tosses his saber to his left hand as he goes down to one knee (Left Knee), as he left hand goes up and blocks his overhead attack. As the two blades meet, the popping sound could be heard as Corey uses his right hand to block Kevins kick. He looks up at Kevin with his right eye, just past the blades smiling.

“Nice, very nice Kevin, I was not expecting a Jedi to kick me while I was down. (Laughs a little)”

Corey pushes upward with his left hand forcing Kevin’s blade back as Corey moves a couple steps back. He swings his blade wildly in a figure eight, a still when he was first in the Order. It was done by his first close friend, now gone. He stops and looks down not looking at Kevin but feeling him through the force.

He takes off rushing him an slides on the ground on his left knee tossing his saber to his right hand aiming for Kevin left leg. (Thinking to himself)

“Now it time to dance to my beat….”

*Janus backs up a few steps after his blade momentarily locks with Jade's, then thinks for a quick second on her question before answering.*

A Jedi works to disarm an opponent rather than maim them. Is it also true that we try to capture an opponent rather than kill them?

*She steps backs and closes her eyes for a moment she says nothing then she places her saber at her left side and opens her eyes. Her green eyes are bright and calm.*
A Jedi only uses dangerous attack moves when it is absolutely necessary. Death is always the last resort. I am not telling you to defend others or yourself with all your skill. I am telling it is best to disarm or tire out the one you are battling against. We cross a dangerous line when we make death the final out come. The darkness of a kill can be...
*She takes a deep breath and her eyes look off*
Tainting, it pulls at you and makes it harder to stay true to the light.
*She steps close to Janus and lifts his chin with her finger gently, so her eyes are direct with his*
listen to me well, with Jedi there is very rarely a grey area. The darkness is the part deep inside us all that want's what it want's no matter what the cost. It is selfish and greedy. We have to do our best to be stronger. It is not easy, nor to be lightly taken. If at any time it gets to much come to me and talk to me. I will never shame you or make you feel less then if your struggling. I to have. I have Felicate blood and makes the struggle harder. The animal is all passion and fire. It wants to run, it wants to fight and wants to draw blood when hurt. I have to be in control or it will rule me with it's passion. So I am the last person that will mock you. *She cups his face and steps back giving him time to think and ask questions if needed*

[Kevin Kenobi]

*Kevin Force Jumps up and backflips in midair, dodging Corey's blade, and lands a few feet away from him. As he lands, Kevin sends a moderately strong Force Push at Corey, strong enough to potentially send him backwards some more, but not so much that he would slam into a wall or some other object. He smiles at his friend.*

Sorry dude. I just get into a slightly aggressive zone when I fight. I'll try to tone it down a bit.

*Kevin then charges Corey and utilizes a two-handed horizontal slash from his (Kevin's) left to right across Corey's upper body.*

*Janus listens as Jade explains more on the Jedi way of lightsaber combat, and he finds that what she says matches his personality and distaste of conflict, though he understands that sometimes conflict is inevitable. Janus thinks on her words for a moment before speaking.*

I understand completely what you are saying, Master. Growing up, I never really liked conflict, which seems fitting I guess because of my nature as a healer and physician. I also understand that sometimes we are drawn into conflict and must be prepared to deal with it properly. The style of fighting you described, drawing out the battle so as to tire out the opponent, sounds to me like the style I wish to learn. And thank you for letting me know that you would not mock me if I felt the pull of the dark side during combat.

*Janus smiles at his Master before continuing.*

Are there names for the different styles of lightsaber fighting, so that I can study more about them?

*She leans back and thinks on it*
Yes there is only three for now I want to you to know of. One is Form I or also known as Shii-Cho then next is Form II or also known as Makashi and the final one is Form III or also known as Soresu. The last one is the one I tend to use but you might find another suits you. The ones that come after III take more training then one normally gets as a padawn. Know that I am not insulting merely stating a truth. As anything you want to know on these three forms of figthing.

As Corey stands he is hit by Kevin’s Force push, he rolls with it as he goes into a flip and spins in the air. He lands with his sabers slides towards Janus and Jade, he feels the rush from the training. He smiles as he looks up and over to Kevin.

“No, this is just find my friend. I know my you are not trying to kill me, so be aggressive this just makes me pick up the pace.”

He reaches out with his left hand just as Kevin starts to rush him, using the force to bring his saber to him. Just as he catches it, he ignites it as their blades meet. Corey once again drops to one knee to ease the impact of their blade. With both hands on his saber his then pushes his saber upward and let go with his left hand using Force push to knock Kevin back.

“If you tone it down, then I think you are going to let me win. (laughs) Now that would hurt my feelings, and you might say I would get offend thinking you think I am too weak to duel with you. (laughs)”

He swing his saber as he waits for Kevin to gain his balance.

*Janus thinks for a moment before responding.*

How do each of the Forms work? Are there certain situations where one is better than another?

[Kevin Kenobi]

*Kevin begins to fall backwards from the force of the shove and turns his momentum into a backward handspring using just his right hand, deactivating his lightsaber in the process so he won't accidentally impale himself. He lands with a big grin on his face.*

I know that you're not that bad to where I would have to throw the match for you to win, but since you asked, I won't hold back.

*Kevin reignites his lightsaber and throws it at Corey's saber hand, then charges Corey again and attempts a sliding kick with his right leg aiming for Corey's right knee.*

Corey hears Kevin as he backs up and cracks his neck once more, he starts to feel good as he stares at Kevin. He turns his saber a couple times as he replies to him.

“That’s good to hear, I just hope you ca…..”

Corey see the saber throw coming towards him, Corey does a backward flip as Kevin’s saber flies under him. For Corey size he moved with ease as he lands just when Kevin lands a blow to Corey’s calf, as the blow brought him to one knee.

Corey smiles as he hits the ground as he turns to Kevin, being so close to him. Corey reaches over and grabs his right leg with his left hand as Corey drops his saber to grab his other leg. Using the Force Corey used Force Leap still holding Kevin’s legs.

“Now, this is my type of fighting Kevin. Prepare!!”

After saying that Corey during the leap rolls forward swing Kevin faster over his head back towards the ground. Corey ‘s aim was at the Mats on the floor by them.

Aine walks in the gym looking for Corey. She sees him dueling Kevin and quietly takes a seat to watch until they finish so she can talk to him about what Cait told her regarding the problems with Khari and the up coming meeting on Bespin.

Continued after Aine walks in...

Corey sensed something strong off of Aine as he lost his train of thought during his attack on Kevin. He lost his grip on Kevins Feet just as he finished his flipping him. As he looks over at Aine he lost the position of Kevin as he hits the ceiling an come crashing down himself.

He crash on the ground and lay there for a moment feeling stupid for losing his thought of training.

[Kevin Kenobi]

*Kevin is taken completely by surprise when Corey grabs his legs and launches Kevin into the air. He quickly tries to think of a way to get free, but runs out of time when he sees that he's headed for the mats. Kevin gathers himself and braces himself for a hard landing. He uses the Force to try and slow his fall somewhat so that it won't hurt as much when he lands. Kevin lands kind of hard on the mats and gets up slowly, a little disoriented from being thrown and from the hard landing. Kevin regains his senses and sees that Corey has completely lost his focus and turns and sees Aine. He faces her and bows slightly before turning back to Corey.*

Corey, you ok dude? You seem out of it all of the sudden.

[Corey Dooku]

Corey looks up as he clears his head, looks over at Kevin

"Sorry, something in the force I guess or just call it getting older."

Corey laughs as he looks over at the Grand Master. He stands up and bows to Kevin.

"Next time, but I am sorry I have business with the Grandmaster."

He walks over to her.

[Kevin Kenobi]

*Kevin nods and deactivates his lightsaber.*

That's no problem, Corey. I needed a workout, even if it wasn't as long as we would have wanted it to be. I'll leave you alone to discuss whatever you need to with Cait.

*He smiles and walks over to where Jade and her student are working to observe a little more.*
