That he would, once done with things. It was a waiting game now, but he had other things to occupy his mind right now. She was being jokingly flirtatious with him and he didn't like it. It would suit her right to get the tables turned on her. He was the injured party here after all, well in the literal sense of the word. His shoulder was giving him some pain, but not enough that he could get back at her.
"Well what do you expect with that devious whisper?" he tells her trying to deny to himself he was actually blushing. "And i don't blush, its pain from my injuries." he lied smoothly, almost daring her to call him on it. She was going the right way for a spanking...he did have a good arm for that at least.
"That was when i was at peak efficiency, woman. I am injured, i deserve some sort of handicap for that....if your serious" he all but shouted that at her. The more he thought about it, he liked the idea she had, but with some minor differences. He would tell her later on if she pushed things.
"well figure it out, now i want to do it. Though since it is my 48 hours there will be a minor difference in things this time." he smiled smugly at her. "Oh, yes...you know me well enough to know what i want."
Oh, no she didn't. "Yes, we will pick up where we left off but don't try to change the subject. You brought it up, so now we try it..." he walked over to the comm and called the hotels front desk for a list of things they would be needing. All of the things were normal everyday things, so it wasn't like he was painting them a picture of what they were going to be used for. "There now..." he waves her off to the bedroom. "now we can continue, but remember you started this." and he was going to make sure she regretted it....or enjoyed it, depending on how you look at things.

Now she was really laughing, unable to stop and verging on the point of hysteria. If he expected her to believe that was anything but a blush, he had another thing coming. Those words alone would have made a pleasure slave go red, and not in the falleen sense either. But as ever, she carried it off with a perfectly straight sabacc face and waited for that reaction.
So when Tress raised his voice at her little confession, that sense of triumph was ignited anew. Ah, he really had just played into that one hadn't he?
"You are the one who discharged yourself early, I'm sure the medbay would be happy to have you back in their tanks again after the little show you put on for them...I suspect it's the most entertainment they have had in years." Khari quipped, adding more fuel to the already burning fire. And why shouldn't she, he'd wound her up more times than she cared to mention, she owed him a few.
"And I said I was serious, didn't I? About the latter part anyway."
Oh no, he wasn't going to get one over on her that easily, not by a long shot. He could demand that and she probably would comply...but not to the letter. There were ways of going about things so agreements were never violated, but the results changed immeasurably.
Mirroring his smile exactly, she nodded once affirmatively not yet breaking his stare either. "Indeed I do...know you well enough to know what you want, that is." She spoke deviously, deliberately, "And you can consider it figured out, where do we start...lead the way."
It may have looked like she was calling his bluff and in some ways she was, but this also fit perfectly with her design on things. So why not turn the tables again, they seemed to do this endlessly and it only made everything all the more fun. Khari had to wonder if they had really called a truce at all back there in the bath...no, perhaps not.
"Who's changing the subject?" She repostured imperiously, leaning forth almost accusingly, daring him to question that. And no doubt he would. "You are the one who implied you weren't interested in that, I never said anything to the contrary until after you had told me that was off the cards. It's not my fault you're so...." She waved a hand at him haughtily, knowing it would get him going "....indecisive."
Her eyes followed him as he walked over to the commstation and she observed, with baited breath, as he did in fact request everything they'd need. Now there was something she thought he wouldn't do. Perhaps he was serious...two could play at that game.
"How thoughtful of you, I thought I might have to go out for those items myself. But now that you mention it, I believe you forgot one last thing..." Crossing the floor, she shooed him away from the console, and keyed in the line direct to reception again. A moment later, she got a response, and then placed her order as it were, turning back to face Tress when it was all done with a dutifully pleased expression. "There...all set. Now, where are we going to do this, I don't want your shoulder giving you any discomfort, this will probably, hopefully, take a while."
His expression would probably be priceless, especially considering the perplexing nature of what else she'd added to his rarther interestingly average list. Again there would be no questions asked by the staff, and even if there were, they didn't know Tress was up here, she could simply have been doing this alone, although that would have raised more than the average eyebrow. Just the thought made her smirk. When next she looked at him, that smirk only grew, if she didn't know any better, he was going to be more surprised than she had been when he'd seemingly blindly agreed. So be it then. Game on.

"I left there to be with you and everything that implies. Do you want me to go back? Let those nurses take care of me, run their hands over me as.....well, nevremind. I am here and with who i want to be...." she had been having a laugh at him over it, but that should put things into perspective. If not he would have to think of something more.
The rest was something else entirely. He was going to make sure she was serious, but with a twist. Not yet, though. First she would need to be reassured. Then he would break the news and tell her the tables had changed this time. Him being the injured party, it wouldn't be right to let her take control....she was to enthusiastic.
He nodded and grinned leading her to the master bedroom. Stopping at the doorway he allowed her to go first, spanking her as she passed to set the pace. She would get him back for that one, but he was looking forward to it. Just how much was evident as he took off his towel.
"Slow or fast." he tells her as he enters the room. "How is that for indecisive?" The call he made was then, it was needed to prove something to himself and her. They were going along with this or else. Its why he came all the way over to her with his tailpipe showing after all.
He turned and looked at her raising one finger. "One is simple and over to quick. Sometimes leaving you lacking if not spur of the moment." he raised his second finger. "The second option is better in this case, it think. Slow is my vote for it draws things out. Allows lots of teasing and frustrations to build before...the end." he adds a third finger. "This one is a bonus and combining the two. Helps with taking the edge of things so things can proceed slow and steady as things build up.....you decide."

He really knew how to play it, whether or not she showed she was irked by that statement, he knew it would grate against her sensibilities as abrasively as she had felt it when he'd been doing that to get attention in the first place. Of course the only attention he'd been trying to get was hers, getting her to focus on what everyone else was looking at in order to irritate her into reacting or acting out of turn. That had been the aim of the game and each and every single time she had retalliated...she should tell him about the ship, that would put pay to his teasing.
In the end the more she thought about it, the better that idea was sounding, because he kept talking, pushing his luck...
"They would only do it once." She commented curtly, turning her nose up at the idea, figuratively and literally in posture. "And what would happen in that instance is the least of your concerns right now."
Khari smiled at him then, in that self-satisfied knowing little way she always did when she knew something he didn't. And exaggerating it would only add weight to her argument. If he wanted to be slapped down he was going the right way about it because she would not be letting him get away with that for long.
When he didn't immediately react, instead nodding in the direction of the bedroom, she paused dubiously, that questioning expresion never leaving her face until it seemed that neither of them would move if she didn't go first. He hadn't been in there ahead of her so there was obviously nothing horrendously shocking waiting for her in there...nothing as horrendous as a bright pink ship anyway. Deciding to make the first move she walked past him - and that was when it hit her, literally.
Khari didn't yelp, not exactly anyway, rather a muted version of what would have been a help escaped her in favour of something that transgressed into a hiss of surprise. Then she whirled on him, only to find him a lot closer than she expected him to be, surprising her all over again with a start. Well now she was twice as imperious than before.
"Consequences Tress, everything has consequences; wasn't that what you told me? I seem to recall it was after I did something like - excuse me?" She simply stared at him unblinking for a moment, the sudden meaning of his words finally reaching her ears and indeed her mind with them. Yes he'd definitely just asked that, but it wasn't shocking in it's self, he'd said far filthier things to her and she hadn't reacted like this, this was all down to timing. And just as she was coming to her senses...ire included, he continued.
Several moments passed, several moments of her trying to articulate just what it was that was going on in her head and several moments of being frustrated at the jumble. In the end, she managed to shake her thoughts clear, but only just. Ensuring her demeanour hadn't changed too much to look like she wasn't considering anything but his choice there, she remembered what little point she was trying to bring up from before. The same little point he'd taken painstaking care to drive home to her from the get go, except she was going to execute it in reverse.
"You already know I am going to answer both, but you are forgetting the fourth option." Khari said, steepling her fingertips pensively, everything about her seemed to outwardly portray a sense of calm and genuine thoughtfulness. Then without warning, she drew back her hand and slapped him hard across the face, "Stop interrupting me, don't take liberties and do not take me for a fool! You've been a complete nerf herder since you got back and....and....gods I love it, come here."
Without preamable she pulled him into the room with her, against her, and kissed him with all the fury of that embrace, hard, possessively. If her anger had been heated enough then this burned white hot, stuff the agreement, she knew she'd probably just shattered every damn rule therin, but that was the last thing on her mind. Khari wasn't going to let him lord that over her now.

Someone had sounded jealous with that admission. It made him want to smile for some reason, in just it was nice to feel wanted. She sort of claimed her territory and he was it....but that smile of hers made him worry. She was prone to do that from time to time and it had made him cautious.
He told her after awhile of his thoughts for the night or for the start of the night. In all reality he wasn't going to last all night, he was tired and injured, but he had a stimpak he could use to keep him going. Wonder if he would win more days if he wore her out, or himself for that matter. It would be an interesting challenge and even if nothing come of it, the conclusion would be well worth it all.
The stinging feeling as his face was turned to the side by he slap shocked him. Not just the act alone, but his body reacting to it had made him jerk and pain shot in his shoulder. All that was replaced by the kiss and her arms around him. What was he suppose to do now, but enjoy, right? There were consequences he had once told her for anyone doing that to him. Shown her three times up to date, just exactly happened if done. Maybe that was her reasoning, she wanted that sort of treatment. Who was he to deny her........
The rest i cant post or words like yummy or things are heating up on Kuat, or oh, baby....might be said. So a time skip just happened, can you feel that? Well can you feel it slip away? Leave you feeling funny deep inside? Time slips what a rush.
The next forty eight hours passed slowly for Tress with Khari insatiable appetites. Those ten course meals were just to much for a gently bred Anaxian to handle. When he wasn't up preforming super human feats of endurance and stamina, he was snoring at her side. Every once in a while jumping up from deep sleep with "No, more i cant possibly..." or me favorite "One more time.." which would end up waking a sleeping temptress and on it went. Over and over.
Finally, he was up, healed if somewhat sore everywhere on his body and in need of some alone time in a hot shower. Thats where he was then, letting the heat of the water sooth muscles and bones. "Woman will be the death of me" he mutters under his breath, but what a way to go he added with a chuckle.

Khari had awoken from a much needed rest feeling far more refreshed than she had the last time she’d actually allowed sleep to claim her. Of course the circumstances of her sleep were much the same as before, but they weren’t actually on borrowed time now. That made all the difference. The night before had been many kinds of amazing for many different reasons - all of them pleasurable in each a fashion - all of them attributed to the company she’d had, and they had certainly made the most of it. Having a full 48 hours uninterrupted was like Obroa Skai all over again. She found herself almost longing for a return to the days when she wasn’t quite so in demand. Freedom, she realized was a point of view and a luxury, when you had as many responsibilities as she did, that was a commodity the likes of which she didn’t see often.
Stretching languidly, she turned over already knowing that Tress had risen before she had woken up fully, the familiar warmth at her back had vanished, and she’d found herself sprawled somewhat, as often she did when she slept alone and could have the bed to herself. The quiet sounds of the sanisteam eminated from the room across the way, giving her a good idea of where he’d gone to, she only hoped he managed to do it this time uninterrupted - at least by her mother anyway. The old hawkbat hadn’t tried to contact her again, save for sending the information she required for that ‘gathering’ to her personal datapad and business memos in order for her to get the heads up of just what squill pit they were walking into. Tress, of course, would be forbidden to go to this meeting, as was customary, unless others chose to flout the rules and bring outsiders too.
Quietly, she lay there for a while, just relishing these last moments of peace before everything was due to descend into chaos once again, and sighed when it seemed like she had been there far too long. Pulling herself from the bed she wrapped a throw around robe about her form and casually made her way out into the main living space. However, as she brought her gaze up, she almost completely missed the figure sitting elegantly on one of the large couches that dominated the main area, pausing in her tracks to do a double take and only then did she see that there, watching her with a critical eye, sat Anara Vestra. It appeared as though Khari had thought too soon.
“How long have you been sitting there?” Khari asked tersely, folding her arms in a way that was more befitting a parent to a child and not the other way around.
Anara, unphased by her daughters indifference picked up the glass of exotic beverage she had helped herself to, and took a sip. “Long enough to realize the good Senator has been liasing very closely with you...”
Khari flushed a dusky shade of pink, and that was just the annoyance.
“Oh don’t worry dear, I left him to his own devices this time, he was in there when I arrived here. It was you I came to see.” Anara said before Khari had due chance to bat her down again. “After our little chat the other night I decided to look up your interesting new friend and came up with quite the list of information. I am not sure what surprised me more, the fact that he seemingly legitimately made a bid for his position or that his last name is in fact Odak-ZANN? And no, I am not assuming you are naive enough not to have known that but the question is why...” The older Kuati gestured ever so casually around them “...all of this?”
That disapproving look had returned to Khari’s face, and she didn’t so much as crack a smile at Anara’s little performance, for that was all it was, she wasn’t some senate mogul who put in for cheap theatrics and beating about the bush. Not when it came to this woman.
“Aren’t you a little old to be giving me that kind of advise?” She replied, neither denying nor confirming the other woman’s suspicions.
To her credit, her mother didn’t react to the blatant insult. Perhaps in some twisted sense she was proud of that sharp tongue. It was she who had cultivated it.
“Indeed and you are old enough to know better, but as you seem adamant to point out, I really have no say in the matter. However, consider then how this will look at the pending gathering...”
Khari shook her head, “It is a non issue, they don’t need to know nor is it any of their business what I do with my free time.”
“Ah-” Said Anara, she had just realized how her daughter was going to play it, simply; she wasn’t. “It concerns their assets, they will tear you to pieces when they find out. A Zann of all people...he might not be well known now, but consider in the very near future....do you suppose no one is going to notice all of the time you seem to be spending together, disappearing for days upon end?”
“I think they will already have their hands full dealing with the person or persons responsible for the calamity of the past week or so to be bothered about who I am spending my time with. Especially when there is a legitimate reason for me to do so...need I remind you how lucrative the deal with the RGE is? Who’s pockets that will be lining? I believe they will be a lot less inclined to fuss nor waste time on having me watched when they see the results.” Khari stated, so Anara meant well, but as usual she was sticking her oar in where it really wasn’t wanted. It was all about image to the old crone, point in fact, had she not started to show the signs of a few silver hairs here and there upon her otherwise dark crop of hair, she could have been mistaken for being ten years younger than she actually was. Khari didn’t want to know how much the procedures to make that possible had cost, but she knew it had to have made a small dent in her families inherritance.
“True enough, but don’t say I didn’t warn you. Many in your position have fallen for lesser things and need I remind you of Kuar of Kuhlvult? Which brings me to the other reason why I am here. That unsightly mess down at the docks, a message was sent to the family estate by mistake, I believe you requested to be informed if Colonel Klask awoke?”
Now Khari brightened, keen eyed was the word, somehow she hadn’t expected the old man to make it through the next few hours, but this was a turn up for the books.
“Yes, I did, do I take it then he is awake and coherrant?” She asked, finally settling opposite her mother.
“The message didn’t say, that you would need to see for yourself.”

There was a time in every mans life when he needed some alone time, for Tress it was now. Slow repetitive motions helped ease the ache. The past forty eight hours had been tiring and a test of him, but here he was still alive and enjoying things.
With a jerk and grunt, he came to the realization that it was time to get out of the shower. Turning off the spray he steps out and grabs a towel and dries himself. Then he walked off back to the bedroom to wake up Khari with a kiss or two, but she wasn't in bed.
Its when he heard voices in the other room, wrapping the towel around his waist he goes and sees. Standing there at the doorway listening to what was being said by mother and daughter.
Left him to his own devices? Had she taken a peek while he had his alone time in the shower? Was she a bigger predator then just pinching half clothed men walking in lobby's?
Ah, now to the real topic, mother didn't like him so was trying to talk her precious daughter out of things. He always knew this might happen, they both did and still they stayed together. He wasn't his grandfather and she knew that. He was here where he was because he cared enough of her to be around her, help her achieve something great for KDY as his way of making up for what his family had done to Kuat. Still he was a bad seed just for the name he carried.
Not well known? That was one aspect he was proud of actually. It meant he had done things right and covered his tracks so well he was above suspicion. Even though he ran a modest underworld consortium. While not as powerful or as strong as it once was before, his family name still carried weight to it.
It as to good not to step in so he did. "What does her private life have to do with assets of the TEN? What does my name have to do with things, if i am trying to help add to profits with this deal with the RGE." All said while walking in to the room. "Forgive my appearance, but i haven't the clothes to change into as of yet." it wasnt that he was talking about, but the bite marks and scratches over his body, but he was looking at them both closely to see their reaction.
Well as far as being ignored by Anara was concerned he was right on that count. To Khari he winked as he made his way to the bar to pour himself. "Want anything, love?" he said over his shoulder asking Khari as he poured himself some sort of juice.
Turning he leans his hip against the bar and looks at them both waiting, then suddenly he takes a drink cover his grin. "Want me to end things with your daughter?" his eyes slide over to Anara. "Would that solve all your problems or be the beginning of them?" he prefered to think of that as a warning not challenge, but you never know with trumped up Kuati Senators high on their own self importance.

Khari was getting a little unsettled by the ammount of times in a week so many people had managed to walk in around her and make her start. She hadn't heard Tress exit the sanisteam and had rather hoped Anara would have been gone by then, but no - naturally he had heard everything worth hearing, if those words could be considered that. And unsurprisingly, Anara didn't so much as bat an eyelash in his direction. Khari on the other hand looked back and smiled apologetically, what could she do? The woman had just appeared in their living room.
"What does it have to do with..." Anara began, interrupting herself with an all too sarcastic chuckle, belittling him with a glance, "It has everything to do with them. But you are new to all this and allowances must be made. You see, it is the Ten who put her here, if she is seen to be fraternizing for lack of a better word, with a Zann of all people, how much faith do you suppose they will have in her ability to lead this corporation into the future? If she would choose, out of all the people in this galaxy, to shack up with the grandson of someone who deeply insulted and disgraced Kuati forces...it's almost inconceivable."
She may well have had a point, but Khari could see this from both sides of the fence and as much as she hated being in the middle, there was truth in what both of them said. It wouldn't stop her seeing Tress, it just meant that they had to be careful, she needed reasons to ensure that her rivals had no reason at all to doubt her. That those who wavered and even those who supported would know without a doubt that she had been the best possible choice. And she would do that, perhaps then she could be more open about things.
"Interesting choice in body art there Senator Odak-Zann, I'm sure you had many a fun hour acquiring it. But who am I to question your morning routine?"
Khari knew this wasn't going to end good, she was going to have to step in eventually or someone, and it definitely wasn't going to be her, was going to get hurt in the exchange. While she had dealt with Anara for almost every single day of her memorable life, Tress wouldn't be accustomed to her way of seeing things, or indeed her unique way of being rather, well...sarcastic with just about anything. So far as she knew, he hadn't encountered her inside the political arena yet either. For that he should feel relieved, for if she was half as trying as she was now, it really would be a migraine in the making.
"I couldn't have put it better myself, who are you to question it? Now we have the pleasantries out of the way, perhaps you can tell me if there was anything else you wanted to tell me while you so vivaciously lounge in my living space?" The younger kuati asked, looking at Anara through narrowed eyes, a silent threat remaining unspoken for the time being.
Tress on the other hand seemed undeterred by Anara's venom-filled response and was helping himself to some of whatever juice her mother had helped herself to on the way in. Liberties, what ws it with this woman and taking liberties - ironic really, since she did much the same wherever she went. Perhaps it was time for a lifestyle rethink?
"Something...but I'm fine for the meanwhile, thank you." She responded back, moving up a seat so he could sit down if he wanted to, not that she blamed him for not doing so - staring that kodashi viper in the face wasn't exactly the easiest thing to do.
"No that was everything, but your friend here looks as though he has something further he wants to say. After the other night I am amazed he thinks I would actually listen." Anara responded, not so much as deigning to look at Tress now, her indiference was as hot and cold as jumping from a boiling pan into a tub of ice, everything had to be on her terms and that was the only way. The older woman had been about to get up and leave, when Tress had just managed to slide in that last question, stopping Anara to the point where she stood so still it was as if she had been flash frozen. Khari groaned inwardly, this was it, this was what it had been coming to and there was going to be no hiding from the fallout.
Pivoting slowly on one heel, Anara fixed him with a rather unsually appraising stare, as if she was actually admiring him as opposed to be carefully considering all the ways she could make him disappear as quietly as possible. Quiet for her at least. The only sound that passed her lips in those first few moments, was a barely audible "Huh..."
Naturally that gave way to further thought, she couldn't stay silent forever nor, Khari knew, would she. It didn't matter if she had stepped in, the result might end up worse.
Holding herself tall, self assured, the older Kuati shook her head a couple of times, slow, precise, and not once did she break his gaze, "You don't scare me, Zann. Those threats might work on those in your home system, they might even hold water, but truly, did you think I would be intimidated by anything you believe you could do?" Then exuded a tutting noise from her mouth, as if she were counciling an unruly child - Khari knew that mocking tone well. "Don't be foolish lest you wish to force my hand. And believe me when I say I will take action. Your grandfather might have had luck on his side but even luck has to run out sometime. And when it does, I will be the sharp blade cutting your strings, just so I can watch you fall. "
Enough of that - thought Khari as she stood and moved swiftly to guide her mother back towards the door. She'd really said much to much this time. But Anara wasn't budging, not yet, taking a gentle hold on Khari's forearm to hold her where she was firmly, letting her know she had no intention of leaving immediately. Verbally though, Khari pushed.
"This...all of this is- "
"Yes, yes, I know, your mistake-" With one cutting off the other, it might have made for an interesting comedy skit, but the reality was far more barbed.
"Choice!...not mistake, choice." Khari snapped, earning a dismissive wave from the other woman.
"...Yours to make and that is how it will be. But you can't expect me to approve, I'm only looking out for y-"
"Yourself. As ever...Now, thank you for the information, I will get back to the medical team on that one. If you don't mind, and even if you do, I would like to get back to my morning routine."

"Allowances?" he looked at her for the belittling glance during her charade there. Being that she was talking to a Zann of all people, she sure told him directly and with out dressing things up he was of the bad sort. That maybe some of the worst parts of his grandfather had fallen to him. He nodded agreeing silently, well maybe some had.
He looked down at his marks, some he could see others he knew they were there cause he still felt them with every movement. He was proud of them, he had done something right in making her lose control. As he touched the ones on his chest he smiled smugly at the older woman. He had wished to say something more, but held his tongue this one time. Well he tried to at least.
Now he had to say something to that. "I agree luck was on his side at that time. Though if his luck got him that far, imagine what i could do with men from the inside, Anara." he said her name with vile loathing sound coming from a spitting hutt. "Tyber did all that with careful planning, striking from the outside...in. Push me further and i will show you luck." he was bluffing of course, he wouldn't do that while Khari was in charge or ever, but could she willing to risk that. First, she would question how he would do it and he told her. "I have been here weeks publicly and before that longer in secret. I have men taking over the Kuati Underworld as we speak." another lie, but not far off the truth. He had plans of trying, but simply had his hands full with all the recent problems involving Khari.
"You spoke of allowances, earlier. Well here's mine to you and the TEN. Go against Khari in any shape or form and i will systematically destroy everything they have from the planet up to this Array." he got closer his demeanor changing not letting up just yet. " There will be such a wide scale destruction brought upon them that even if 'luck' ran out for me, nothing will ever be the same again." his show over with for now, he turned around and started walking back to Khari with one last parting word. "But all that is nothing cause it will be known that you brought this ruin upon Kuat. That you were the one at fault in that you riled the last of the Zann's....."
He had been looking at Khari just then, trying not to laugh as he winked at her. Offering her his hand he pulls her to her feet and whispers, "pull the towel off and let her see the tattoo again." Then he kissed her in front of her mother, before he left them there. "Hurry love, we do have a morning routine to continue."

Khari could well understand Tress' need to save face, she could even be somewhat reasonable when it came to rebuking him for what he was about to do, but he was digging himself a very deep hole here that the mines of kessel were going to pale in significance to if he didn't stop digging quite that furiously. But rather than leap in there to his defence, she knew she had to be at least a little tactical about this. Maybe there was another way?
Getting in there before Anara had chance to hiss back a venomous response, Khari interjected, "Leave the politics for the correct arena, here at least, you have very little say in what happens, either of you. Rest assured I will do what is best by this corporation and therefore by the Ten. I would be a fool to believe there is no conspiracy within conspiracies here, there have been for generations and it is not something that can simply be stamped out. But the fact of the matter remains that these are ineffectual why? Because they are unsuccessful, they will continue to be so as long as I still stand."
Beginning to pace, she said the majority of the tersely spoken stuff whilst facing Anara, then when she pivoted to face Tress on the back pace, she flashed him a look that let him know this was more for theatrical use than seriousness, it would seem as if she was cautioning them both and reaffirming her mother's need not to go off and report this. The last thing they both needed was her vote going the wrong way when it came to inquiries.
What he said really did surprise her, not least of all because he'd basically said he'd risk that much to ensure that vengence was had in her name. But because he'd had the gall to stand up to this woman regardless of what she'd threatened - which knowing her was almost a certainty.
This time Anara wouldn't be silenced. She had, for lack of a better word, turned an unworldly shade of red, not through embarrassment, no, that was all pure anger.
"Are you accusing me of something, Senator Zann? Do you really think I would oppose my own daughter? Are you space sick?! I'm looking out for her interests here and I intend to do it completely legitimately...which is more than I can say for you. I need not have come here and told her what to expect, but I still did...and I am glad I did too, if she listens to you this place will be in ruins by the following day cycle." She spat disdainfully, "If those words of mine rile you, it is down to your own inability to take criticism, and to that end it would be your fault, not mine. Take your blame elsewhere, because it will be a hot day on hoth before you convince anyone that those actions would be directly attributed to anything I could do."
Anara may well have been turning to leave, but when Tress whispered those words to Khari, she stared at him agast. Hadn't he mooned enough people in the past 72 hours without enraging someone else with that view? Then again , this was Anara they were talking about, enraged wasn't exactly what she would be, insulted, but probably unable to tear her eyes away...and that was definitely Tress' point.
"Don't you have a meeting to get to?" Khari called across the way, still facing Tress while she addressed the other woman, "You said this was a fleeting visit." Anara hadn't, but she would catch Khari's meaning.
"Indeed, and I will see you when the Ten convene..." The older Kuati replied plaintively, sliding a glance at Tress again, "...alone."
Khari nodded, but didn't look to see her mother off, instead she kept her attention on Tress, and that extremely satisfied smirk he seemed to wear whenever he'd just handed Anara a plate of freezing cold whatever she'd given him that day. With a sigh the raven haired woman shook her head stiffly...
"What am I going to do with you?" She said, finally bringing her gaze up, there was no point in apologizing for Anara this time, she was what she was and there would be no changing her. That had her memory harking back to what else Tress had said. "Morning routine? We have a routine now, do we?" This spoken as innocently as she could, betraying a little of her curiosity.
With a small gesture to the room he'd just come from, Khari let a slight frown crease her brow, but it wasn't in disappointment nor disapproval, "Having fun in there, were we?" She didn't let on how she knew, but made it apparently obvious that she did. Never one to mince her words, she could have just come out with it, but there wasn't any fun in doing so. Now, though, she did whip that towel of his away, then proceeded to circle around him until she got a good look at that tattoo...it had never possessed her to look too closely at it before now, not in any great detail. But when she did, now, she stood there agape for a good long minute.
"....Kuat 0? Is that right?" Imperiously, she stood there, hand on her hip, simply staring at it. "Well, I think we might have to even up that score a little."

All he did was smirk at her. Well he finally got his answer to what he had already known. Anara was keeping an eye on her daughter not out of a sense of pride in her accomplishments, but to keep herself where she was. With her daughters rise to fame so she too could rise to prominence as Senator. Thats what he saw out of this at any rate. Khari said alliances that suited purposes, would Anara go against Khari if things were going bad? Was she now with her just over her daughters position as KDY Director?
There was no need to answer or go on, it was over and he would be keeping a close eye on Anara from now on. Her and the TEN, first thing he would have to do is with Khari's help figure out why and who was responsible for the attack on them. When they was decided they would act and if it didn't fit his sense of punishment, he would act secretly on his own. He had meant what he'd said to the older kuati woman and it would go as an example to the rest of the TEN as well.
He watched Anara leave as self assure as ever, he might have to show her just how far his hand reached, a scare tactic if anything. Though all that left his thoughts as Khari spoke up, he did have the decency to blush in embarrassment for all he had done. "I'm sorry, its just....well her, your mother." what else could he say, but that and shrug.
As to her other question he smiled and winked. "Well, tell me this...." he gets closer to her. "How have we spent every morning for the last two days? Was it not fun? Wouldn't you like to wake up to that every morning?" he would love to make that a morning routine.
Raising an eyebrow he asks innocently. "What, me in the shower or what we got ourself into for the last several hours?"
He felt the tug, the finders against his skin and then he was standing there wondering what she would do or say. The slow appraising walk around him, when he didn't see her he looked over his shoulder at her. "Yes." he says with a smirk. "I look forward to the attempt." A challenge in the hopes she takes it. Though if truth be known, she had won....

Chuckling at that, it was a fair sign that she knew exactly why Tress was behaving the way he was, simply because most people did bristle to Anara, except for those like her, and even then it was a fair stretch. Khari waved off the apology with a brief shake of her head,
"Don't concern yourself with it, you have no need to apologise, she would be abrasive no matter who you were. It's just her way." That was strictly the truth, to a certain extent, there were possibly two types of people in this galaxy Anara would approve of and neither appealed to Khari. Her mother was all out of luck.
"However, let's not enrage her further, she usually makes good her threats. Trust me, I have been on the receiving end." Leaving the rest unsaid, she tore her eyes away from Tress' interesting choice in tattoo, and moved around him until she stood before him once again. They still had much to do, though this morning routine was sounding very appealing right now.
Pensively pretending to look like she was searching for the memory, though he would know fine well she wouldn't have to look far, Khari pondered that for all of a few seconds, then smiled engraciatingly, rising up on her tip toes to kiss him softly, which wasn't nearly enough as she yearned for.
"You already know I would. So we should see to it that we get to do that as often as possible." It clearly pained her that this needed to remain hidden, damn pomp and tradition, but Anara was right, it was more than that, their being together. The Zann family weren't exactly the most popular people in this system, even less on this particular world, but if she could see to it that they received some considerable good PR, then there was no reason to hide things. It wouldn't be questioned nearly as much.
As things stood, they would see this as a collaborational coup or as Tress trying to con his way in through the front door. The Kuati were as suspicious as they were perfidious in business, the lines between politician and businessman blurred beyond belief.
"When this little mess is brought under control, you and I should take a trip. Get away from it all, perhaps something a little out of the ordinary...I think i'll stay away from the eyeblasters this time though, the only thing worse I have sampled was a reactor core and that was for medicinal purposes only." She made a disgusted face, wrinkling her nose with the memory. Enough of that, then. "What do you think? Just you and me, and whatever excitement we can find?"
And speaking of excitement...
"Is that so?" Khari asked deviously, more of a statement than anything else, she obviously had a particular idea in mind. "I seem to remember that you often ended up on the losing side when I took matters into my own hands...unless of course you're now telling me you really enjoyed that spiceloaf? Or the incident with the ice...and then there was that time I found an alternative use for- " she managed to catch his eye then, and knew his mind must be travelling the same paths as hers. "-Ah, I see you remember. A little hard to forget that one, but I digress. I can't let my standards slip."
The Kuati was already looking for something, eyes scanning the floor for the object she had discarded moments ago just to get a good look at him. Where had she thrown it? Ah...there, laying at the foot of the couch was the towel he had been using to hide his blushes from her gundark of a mother. A small quirk of one slender eyebrow and she strolled across the way to pick it up by either corner, then turned to go back the way she came. For all intents and purposes, it appeared as if Khari would simply hand him back the towel for dignities sake, but that would have been very naive of one to think.
"Somehow, though, I have a feeling you're going to be ranking this one high above the rest, after all...We are driven to excell here." Without warning she flicked the towel in the direction of his marked rear, attempting to catch him with a whip to the left cheek before jerking a thumb in the direction of the other room. "Other room, if you dare."
Confidently she strode in that direction herself, the swing of her hips not lessened any by the small spring in her step. But he'd be foolish to think she wasn't highly aware of where he was, retalliation wasn't above and beyond either of them.
"Quickly now, we have someone to see today."

He actually liked that idea. The two of them out there seeing what problems they could cause or help in solving. Maybe he could entice her into letting her inner criminal out and do some minor illegal projects. Show her some excitement that way. Allow her to learn how the criminal element lived day to day.
They could also go out of their way in helping others. Be a philanthropist duo saving the galaxy one lost cause at a time. Secret identities would be needed, with her position as director maybe it wasn't a good idea to let other know what she was up to, but they could start off small. Recently he'd been invited to a gathering of acquaintances, it could serve as a great trial run for them. "I like that idea, as a matter of fact, i was invited somewhere if your interested." it was in her hands now.
A gauntlet had been thrown sort of with his earlier comment and in typical fashion she had to bring up the worst she'd done to him. A minor....well, OK. They were major victories on her part. She was crafty and had a tendency to distract him before she struck. They were hollow victories as far as he was concerned, so he glared at her. She was going to pay, now that she brought those things up.
"All hollow victories if anything. That spiceloaf should be counted against you...your the worst cook imaginable, you showed a chink in your skills. Point deducted." he says listing all the things she said. "That ice debacle was uncalled for, but just showed you as a clumsy ungraceful thing." he said with a hint of amusement. "AND that time was a tie if anything." was muttered with a blush creeping up his cheeks.....yes, those.
He was confused as to what she was doing while he spoke to her. Though that look she had for a second there should have given him some sort of clue. She was going to pay him back with interest.
That first stinging lash made him cry out unexpectedly. "Stop that !" he says backing away. "Whats gotten into you, woman?" he moved to the other side of the sofa to keep safe from her. She was going to get it sooner or later.
"why you demanding little...." he never got to finish cause she was rounding the sofa getting closer. He grabbed the nearest sofa pillow and threw it at her on the run. "You don't scare me !" well with that towel as a weapon she did.
Making it to the bedroom he slapped his hand on the door activator. "Ha, lets see you get in now, you troublesome minx !" That was Zann 2, Kuat -1 for using a weapon to try to best him.

It didn't take long to pique her interest, she had yet to see the places he frequented, she didn't much know what others associated with him would make of her, but if he was willing to risk that here she could do the same in return.
"Colour me interested, where were you invited?" She asked with a tilt of the head, there was no time like the present, once she had everything in order here, she could leave it in capable hands, they could always contact her if there was an emergency...and she really hoped there wasn't.
Though perhaps the explainations were going to have to wait, since it seemed another game of snipery was about to engulf them both.
Well now, that was uncalled for, Khari thought, standing there with her hands on her hips, towel now hanging loose at her side as she regarded him through quietly seething demeanour. Someone was going the right way about making her prove him wrong, wrong and more wrong. Haughtily she scoffed at him, shaking her head as she crossed her arms infront of herself, and took an imposing step forward, her grip on that towel renewed.
"Of course my cooking skills are terrible, you don't have a chef and cook yourself! I didn't see you volunteering to help. And ungraceful? Clumsy?! That was totally intentional and you know it!" She was learning dangerously forward again, within easy whipping distance of that towel, just one good crack round the back of the legs should do it and he'd be regretting those words for another few painful seconds.
So out she lashed, and again, when the first one didn't hit home with as satisfying crack as she'd hoped for. And it was only now that Tress sought to put some distance between them both. Probably wise, she thought at the back of her mind, but that wasn't going to deter her.
His sudden indignant cry had her scoffing all over again, drawing herself up in mock disbelief. Then she jabbed an index finger in his general direction. "Oh please, that was barely a love tap. What's the matter, can't you reap the proceeds of your accusations? Dish them out but cower from the consequences?" He had moved to the opposite side of the sofa, so now she was stuck opposite him, debating which way would be most proficient to dash to should he make a break for it first. She could always get him over the top of the couch of course, and that thought had her smirking evily. "Stop running away and take it like an adult or i'm going to resort to dirty tactics!"
As if these weren't already, she noted mentally, the humour of the whole thing was still there, but he'd riled her up with those comments and she wasn't one to back down. In the end, when he didn't make a bid for freedom, or drop his guard, she made a mad dash for it, sprinting hard to the left having deemed a vault over the back of the couch would have only given him more time to flee directly back towards the kitchen.
She might have been fast, but he had the edge on her when it came to the mad dash for the psuedo safety of the bedroom. Shouting his apparent lack of fear - and doing precisely the opposite - Tress had managed to dart from the couch-bound area into the other room with Khari right on his heels. Too fast of a dash to have lashed out with that towel one last time lest it slow her down, she had to put the brakes on in double quick time when he depressed the activator and the door slid shut with a whoosh. With both palms flat she hit that door at semi-full tilt, cursing alloud at having just missed him....and he wasn't helping himself by taunting her either.
"Stang!.....You come out of there right now! Open this door or I'll - " No, this would never work, he wasn't going to come out of there.
But she could go in.
The bathroom it's self had two entrances, one from the main living space and one that acted as an en suite to the bedroom, where Tress was currently seeking sanctuary. He might well have closed this door, locked it even, but he wouldn't be able to make it to the other in time.
"....alright, you win." Khari called, giving the door another bang with the flat of her palm, "Open up."
That devious smirk spread her lips wide, a feral look in her eye as she picked up the towel again and, light on her feet, slipped in through the other way. Really, she should have been bright red with embarrassment, this was so childish...but so much fun, and it was the principle of the matter. She wasn't going to be proven wrong. Nor was she defeated.
Crossing the bathroom floor, feet all of a patter, she made it through the adjoining door to find Tress on the far side of the room. By the looks of him, he hadn't noticed her yet. Wonderful. With a few deft strides she crossed the floor almost silently, and then without warning whipped out with that towel again, this time catching him on the other cheek. She was getting quite good at this.
"You were saying?"

"Of course my cooking skills are terrible, you don't have a chef and cook yourself! I didn't see you volunteering to help. And ungraceful? Clumsy?! That was totally intentional and you know it!" he had known nothing of the sort. She was all a spoiled cared for kuati, with the grace of a ronto passing gas. Intentional she said, not even! She had big feet like a Gamorean so was clumsy, he thought to himself jokingly. He would never make fun of her like that. For one it wasn't true, the other was she would undoubtedly get him back and he was frightened it would be below the belt as it were.
She was relentless with that towel, seeking to aim in a well placed shot. It was no wonder he hide behind the sofa to get some room between them. She wasn't playing fair. "So you need help besting a Zann, huh?" that would send her into a tiff, he hoped. What else could he rile her up with. "You smell bad, too !"
Then he made his run to freedom, with the Mistress of the nine Corellian hells at his heels. She was going to pay for this, here he was hurt and under her care and she was trying to whip him. What love. What caring. What a sham....
Oh, no. He wasn't born yesterday. That trick wouldn't work on him. She would stay out there until she apologized properly. The nerve of the woman. There was no need to lash out at him with violence. "You threaten me with harm and then ask me to open with a simple, open up?" no, he wouldn't be falling for those tactics anytime soon. Turning he presses his ear to the door trying to hear from her.
"Might as well apologize like you mean it or you stay out there." he spoke toward the door so she could hear. "Khari?" he asked when he didn't hear anything. What was she doing, trying to bypass the lock?
A sharp cry of alarm with the meeting of the towels tip against his skin had him turning to place his backside pressed to the door. "Hutt's undercarriage, Khari....that hurt !" he shouted at her trying to cup his naked sensitive area while rubbing the pain from his cheek. "How did you get in here?" looking around he just now remembers the bathroom door.
"I'm still injured is this how you care for me ?" a change of tactics was needed, he was out matched with her weaponized. "How about taking me to bed and we talk about the invitation that got your attention from before?" he would get her back once she lowered her guard.

He could have called her everything under the Kuat systems primary and she would have reacted accordingly, the fact that it was him, hiding in a corner while she brandished a towel of all things was positively hilarious.
"Oh stop making such a fuss, anyone would think I had waved a thermal detonator in your general direction." She said shaking her head, and taking a dilligent step forward. When he didn't move, instead looking like he was considering his next best option, she kept that smirk she wanted to unleash, sheathed completely.
Frowning in sudden confusion, she looked back towards the door - had he really managed to miss that? Yes, apparently he had. Fixing her attention back to front and center, Khari considered his other words. Hurt, he said, the big baby, that was nothing compared to...well, yes, that. With an exasperated sigh, she looked down at the towel between her hands, rolled her eyes and then cast it aside - well aside - from them both.
"There now, see? No more towel. Now please stop acting as though I am about to kill you, especially when you have little room to talk." She walked over to where she had dropped the towel then, and kicked it back towards the door with a swift flick of her left foot.
"Oh yes, I remember well what happened that first night on Obroa Skai, now that hurt...and now that I recall, the Eclipse too, and let us not forget the almost embarrassing meeting with the Imperial Regent. " The list went on, so could she, "How about the time we were in my offices, so excuse me for wanting a little payback." All of this was going to pale in significance to what she had done to his ship, and she still hadn't been able to contact the construction docks in order to get that paintwork rehashed.
The towel safely away, and him with little more than a vase filled with Kuati miniature blossom flowers to use as a weapon, she might have been forgiven for thinking nothing could go awry. But who was she kidding, who was he? Tress - and that was exactly why she wasn't letting her guard down just yet.
This time she did walk right up to him, beckonning him out of the corner with a gentle crook of one hand. Then gesturing towards the bed so they could at least sit down, rather than standing here on opposite sides of the room, appearing for all intents and purposes as though they were about to have a duel rather than a playfight or tiff.
"You and I both know your injuries are almost healed, and I believe they were to your shoulder, not your backside. So sit."
To at least see peacable, she sat down herself, keeping half an eye on him in case he decided to change tactics and get one over on her this time. Not that he didn't deserve it, he'd stored up enough trouble for a lifetime, Anara was never going to let her hear the end of it for as long as the old bat should live.
"Now...tell me more about this invitation, and no funny business, I can reach that towel in less than two seconds, can you?" All wiley like, she quirked a brow, then settled a bit, ready to hear whatever he had on his agenda. They could both use a break, she as respite and he as recouperation from his injuries, it was an ideal opportunity to go places. But she wouldn't be neglecting her responsibilities here, not at all.

"Oh, come now." he chides her over this list shes compiled. "That was entirely different and you know it." All those had to do with something private and what she did wasn't in the same league as any of her list. "Tell me you didn't like all those times and I will call you a ...or better yet, never do those things again. Since they must not have suited you."
In the end the towel is disgarded and he tempts her with his words. He wouldn't strike just yet, no she was to good to fall for that one. So he waited and planned, went to go sit at the bed and actually crawled up and got comfortable. Plumping his pillow up he sighs as he lays his head down.
Hands behind his head he looks at her and smiles. "Well, I got a invite to a gathering of the prestigious." he starts off saying. "My name still carries some small weight in those circles. Its a race, a swoop race." he pats the space beside him, wondering if she would fall for it. If not he was going to distract her some more. "Its not really legal, per say, but thousands go for the excitement alone. Its at Toydaria if your interested in going, after things here are dealt with, i mean."

Khari felt her cheeks flush suddenly warm, dusky colour rising to them almost immediately before she spun to look at him there, making himself comfortable and putting his hands behind his head with little trouble at all. Still injured her left foot!
"That is beside the point!" She was quick to quip, perhaps a little too quick, one small victory to him then. "And if I wanted to do something in the same league, as well you know I have, then I would do so, this was just tiding me over, but just you wait!"
Wasn't that the truth? When he saw what she had done to his ship she was going to blow everything he had ever done out of the water entirely. Khari could make it up to him though, that and more should the situation cause for it. However, that ship did hold some small sentimental value to them both. Him because it was a gift from Tyber, and she, well...it contained much that was stollen property that was rightfully hers. If anyone asked he had paid for it all. And he really would have when you took a look at the paintwork.
Cautiously, and not yet trusting him to behave, she looked back over her shoulder at him again, was he deliberately inviting her up there because he wanted to discuss this trip, or something more? She was a fool, she thought, but there really was only one way to find out.
Whether if it was legal or not was beside the point, what she did with her free time was no business of others, particularly if they kept that under their hat. It wasn't as if she had never engaged in illegal activities, this was Kuat after all. Everyone had tried something once. Or would do, in most cases.
"Toydaria? I can't say I have been, though you pique my interest with the swoop race." And that was true enough, she hadn't ever been to one but she knew to what he referred, to be there to witness the event would be different, exciting even. Many might well go for the excitement alone, but she knew enough to know a lot of money would be changing hands at an event like that...a wager worth taking perhaps? She hadn't the opportunity to ever go gambling with him, but she wasn't bad at it to be fair.
"Business associates of yours, the invite I mean?" Now she scooted up the bed towards him, though as yet she wasn't nearly relaxed enough to have lay down beside him, remaining sitting up so that she could possibly have the edge on any attempt to retalliate for earlier. "I would be up for that, the trip could be just what we both need. I can keep in touch with things here though ultimately entrust much of the day to day running to the usual cadre of assistants and personnel. This investigation is going to take some time to gather pace. Why not make the most of the opportunity for some excitable downtime?"
Yes, she was liking this idea more and more, though was he going for the same reasons as she? Or was it more than that?

How should he take that one? He wondered. "Ok, then." What was she going on about. He felt as if he should ask her, but he left things like that for now. Whatever it was he was sure he could make her feel bad about it, or turn it against her in the end. If not, he loved her enough to let matters rest.
Looking up at the ceiling as he told her things, he laid in wait, ready to strike. Maybe not, but it would put her on the defensive. Keep her on the guard, until she realized he wasn't going to do anything to her. Even when she relaxed if she ever did, he would wait.
"Ah, the whine of modified engines reaching 600 kph. High speed excitement of something racing by. This isn't the timed courses, but racer against racer. " he tells her growing excited remembering his first time going.
When she said, business associates, he told her the truth. "Crime Lords of all the major syndicates will be there, betting on their favorites." It was true, some even sponsored their own teams. Alot of credits would exchange hands, rivalries would start or end there. The under veiled danger was part of the excitement.
It was also an excellent opportunity to make new alliances, strengthen old friendships, or just start a power play. "Its just an idea to get away from things for awhile. Have some fun just the two of us. I know there are things here than need to be looked after, but once we get them situated....i had hoped." he said reasonably, all work and no play would get them so bored.
"Though, you being who you are...." he says at the end. "You might need to down play who you are. Cant have the Director of KDY be known to consorting openly with criminals....so a persona change might come in handy." he looks at her, studying her seriously. "Maybe a slave girl disguise...." he knew that would renew hostilities.

What she had done to his ship would wait until he actually laid eyes on that beauty - or not if she had anything to do with it. She could get it resprayed within a matter of hours, better than new. And that way Khari might be able to pass it off as a nice surprise rather than a revenge tactic. However, it wasn't as if he hadn't earned it...apology or not.
He seemed lost in his memories, but they lent to her the images of what to expect. It might well be a tough crowd but she had done what she considered slumming it. He could think what he would about spoiled or not she was, and yes she had been pampered most of her life for lack of a better word, but that didn't mean she had never dared try something new. Khari was all for that. The responsibilities placed on her shoulders often left one with a lust for something a little more out there. This was certainly appealing to that aspect of her psyche.
"An interesting assortment of people no doubt, that alone will be worth a look, it's always good to know what you're dealing with, or in this case whom." He could think what he would about that, it wouldn't have been the first time KDY had sold things to such people, if you had the credits and paid on time, few questions were asked. They had contingency methods against that of course, should such weapons be turned on them. And Tress had witnessed those in full effect some weeks ago.
That may surprise him, it may not. But over the years they had catered to the likes of bounty hunters to the imperial navy, there really were few limits. However, she wouldn't be advertising who she was, merely taking notes.
"Don't worry your head over that, I'm a lot more crowd savvy than you might give me credit for. How long do you suppose I had been in that club you met me in on Obroa Skai? That and many other places I had frequented before you caught my attention."
He had a fair point, a disguise was undoubtedly called for, she hadn't thought of doing it anyother way. And she had already gone over the point of who she was. Despite her vaulted position here at KDY, she wasn't that well known. Her name, certainly, but few could put a face to the name Khari Vestra and get it right.
