Yavin 4 - Jedi Academy

[El Supremo]

Placeholder - Basic description: A new series of structures to house the whole of the Jedi order after they withdrew from Courscant.

Everywhere thoughout the Temple and surrounding grounds, Nick's voice is heard as he speaks over the intercom system. "Attention everyone. This is Master Nick Cousland speaking. Under the orders and authority of Grand Master Windancer, I am implementing a planet-wide lock-down. On Coruscant, a deadly virus has been unleashed and the planet is now under quarantine. To prevent risk of contamination, all ships are to be grounded with the exception of Masters. All incoming traffic will be deterred to another system until further notice and travel off-world will be limited until the situation has been handled. That is all."

Nick makes his way through the Temple and finally arrives in the hangar bay B. He walks through the hangar and arrives at the designated medical transport shuttle, the Light's Hope. He boards the ship and finding all the supplies and equipment he'll need is onboard, he closes the hatch. He walks into the cockpit and sits down in the pilot's chair. He fires up the engines and the ship lifts off the ground and flies out of the temple. He flies the ship skyward, heading towards Yavin IV Orbit.

The Commander walks over and holds the door for Corey and Thorne. It is a drastic shift from the sticky and muggy air of the jungle as they walk inside the climate controlled transparasteel entranceway to the Academy.

"Over a year here, and I am still not used to the heat and humidity of Yavin."

[Corey Dooku]

Corey enters first with Thorne walking in behind him. Corey feels the cool breeze on his face as he turns to face the Commander. Admiral Thorne spoke first letting the two military men talk. Corey just watches at first.

Thorne "Yes, it is amazing how the weather here is so much different than Planet Roon."

Corey raised his hand as Admiral Thorne looks over at him.

Corey "Sorry Commander, but I have to see GrandMaster Windancer sir. I have a message for her from my mission."

Corey face was one of serious but yet it was more gentle than before when he was battling with the Dark Side within him.

Nick exits the turbolift and walks down the hallway. He arrives at the room where he senses Corey at and pushes open the door, stepping into the room. He nods his head to his Commander and looks at Admiral Thorne and Corey. His expression takes on a slight grin. He nods to both men in greeting.

"I thought I sensed someone familiar here. It's been a long time Corey. What can I do for you?"

He nods his head and the Commander quietly walks out of the room, letting them talk in private.

[Corey Dooku]

Corey smiles as he see Nick and looks over at Admiral Thorne. Thorne nods at Lord Dooku and turns walking out leaving Corey and Nick alone. Thorne heads out heading back to the ship. Corey then turns and bows to Nick.

"Yes it has been a long time. Well I have come to bring a message to Grandmaster Windancer, but I must see her alone as soon as possible."

Corey voice showed alot of concern and Nick could sense it. Corey placed his hands behind his back. He looks at Nick again.

"So is it possible to see her now, and by the way what are you know in the Order?"

Corey say it teasing him.

Nick watches as Thorne walks out and then he looks at Corey. He quietly sits down in a chair and sighs quietly. "Uh, Corey I don't know how to tell you this, but Cait's not actually here. She's still gone, possibly with Takeda. We haven't heard from either of them lately."

He looks down and then back up at him. "I'm currently the Second in Command of the Order. And with Cait gone, I'm the acting Grand Master."

He sighs and shakes his head. "Aine and Cait's brother have been trying to contact her but for some reason they can't get through to her."

[Corey Dooku]

Corey walks over and seat down next to Nick.

"I know that, I was not sure if she told you about what she was doing. I told her I would keep my mouth closed and not tell a soul. But since you trusted me with this information Nick, I can only tell you what I seen and what my Officer told me. He told me while we were on our way here."

Corey stands up looking around to making sure no one was around to listen in, he turns and face Nick.

“The planet that we went too, well how can I put it. Someone on the planet was experimenting and ended up making Zombies from dead Vongs and once they killed a living being they also turned into Zombies. (rub his neck) Then Lord Vader showed up saying that Aine/Grandmaster Windancer had attack property that belong to RGE. Now this is where it gets foggy for me, a unknown Dark force came and took the side that was connected to the Dark Side out of me.”

Corey still in disbelieve about not being connected to the Dark Side anymore.

“My Officer told me they came and got me, a Lady named Ywalme took over Aine/Grandmaster Windancer’s ship and headed for RGE. Now if I know the Emperor he will see through her act and she will be in danger I think. Now that is where we have a problem Nick. I already ran into the Emperor and lets just say I cannot go back there right now.”

Corey then crosses his arms and thinks his friends are in danger and he needs to go there no matter what.

Nick nods his head listening to Corey. "Okay, I understand that. Don't worry. Only Cait's brother Colin, and my sister Claire know the truth about Cait and Aine being switched."

He then raises an eyebrow. "Let me get this straight. Yuuzhan Vong zombies? That's something definately new." He then stands up then. "Wait a second. Lord Vader accused Cait of attacking property that belonged to the RGE? That's just plain ridiculous. Cait would never attack anything. You know that she's a healer. She'd only attack anything if only to defend herself and those around her."

Now Nick looks competely confused. "So an entity of the Dark Side came and took out the connection of the dark side from you? That's odd. I'd figure it would try and enhance it."

Nick's eyes flicker between their normal hazel and a dark color. "So Cait is basically being held against her will onboard her own ship heading for RGE space. That's just bloody great." He shakes his head. "Oh Colin and Aine are gonna just love this." He mutters quietly. He then looks back at Corey. "Ire? As in Emperor Ire of the RGE on Carratos? Oh no." He sighs. "Corey, we're gonna have to get her out of there. If she gets to Carratos..." He doesn't even finish the thought.

[Corey Dooku]

Corey nods his head as Nick face show a lot of concern for Cait, he uncross his arms as he moves about slowly as he turns to face Nick once more.

“Slow down Nick, it was a beacon in orbit that was sending a distress call. I am not sure who blocked the signal an then Lord Vader’s ship showed up. He does not know its Cait, I believe but he was trying to get an answer for it. One of my guards that brought me back to my ship told me that he seen Lord Vader and some Troopers heading down to the surface.”

Corey then crossed the arms once more trying to explain the what happened to him back there.

“Nick, from what I remember. A burst of the Dark Side caught me off guard and I blacked out and my connection to the Dark Side grew. I don’t believe me had meet Xerxes. Lets just say he was my evil otherside, and he for all I know now had lost to whatever made me become him once more. I believe whatever it was, was feeding off the Dark Side within me and took it all. Even Xerxes is gone from within. I know it sounds crazy, but I feel like a new man.”

Corey rubs his neck, leaving it there trying to think on what they could do. Then Corey eyes light up.

“I don’t know if its too late to get to them before the make it to the Emperor, but LT Dan told me that the woman Ywalme showed some concern for me. If I can take my ship and beat they there, maybe I can convince her to come along for the rest of the trip on my ship. That might give them a chance to escape.”

Corey tap his comlink to the Admiral.

“Admiral Thorne, make the ship ready. We might have to leave in a hurry, have our Comm Officer to stand by I might have to make a call.”

Corey looks at Nick, hoping he would like his plan or come up with something better. Time was not on there side at the moment.

Nick is about to respond to Corey when he pauses. He closes his eyes and senses a presence up in orbit. He reopens his eyes and looks at Corey just as he receives the message from the Commander. "Umm, Corey. We got a visitor up in orbit and apparently he's Sith. The Commander wants me to go up to the Normandy and speak to him. How about taking a slightly side trip with me and then we can see about getting my Cousin back safe and sound?" He stands up and checks his lightsaber that is clipped onto his belt.

[Corey Dooku]

Corey stands and bows to Nick.

"Nick, I will be a honor to serve the Jedi Order. Sure I can do that, where too?"


Corey meant it, his words were true. He owed the Jedi Order his live. He move to his left.

"Nick, I will take my ship into orbit and meet up with this Sith until you are ready to deal with him."

Corey nods and hit his comlink.

"Admiral prepare the ship to go into orbit. Once there, I need to do two things. Contact the ship in orbit and contact Lady Ywalme."

Thorne "Yes Lord Dooku."

Corey bows and exits to God's Hand and heads to orbit.

Nick nods his head and watches as Corey leaves in his ship. He then walks out of the Academy towards the private hangars of the Order. He walks over to his fighter ship and climbs in. He fires up the engines and heads towards the Orbit.

[Unknown Jedi]

As the gungan recounts his tale, indeed likely a significant part of his life story, the Jedi reaches into his robe and produces a clean tissue or sorts for the gungan as he recounts the tale of Tosh's end.

"I am sorry for your loss Tookie, you have passed a test of being a Jedi that not all are successful in handling. The loss of a master has been the downfall of many a Jedi over the years, the Old Order spoke heavily against the bonds of attachment to people or things, but they too could not resist it. It is a balance, and thankfully the Jedi now learned that there are positive attachments that are healthy in and with the Force. You have done well."

As they arrive at the TapCafe, the Jedi gestures to the Gungan to pick from the menu.
"Please, they have quite decent food here, the understand the Grand Master insists on it, and has been known to conduct surprise inspections of the menu to make sure it stays to her liking. It is amazing the woman stays so thin, she eats like a rancor."

After the Jedi orders his meal and if Tookie orders for himself, the Jedi moves down the line to wait for it to be prepared,
"So tell me, did your Master put you through a final set of trials?"
With a slight sigh he continues.
"There are many here, and through the galaxy, that call themselves Jedi but they have not been through a set of trials. It is an important process, I know you have already endured a significant challenge already. It is a test of the soul, as well as the body, and equally it is a test of the mind and will of a Jedi... much about a Jedi is defined by what they discover about themselves during the trials. It is the Essence of Knighthood.

[Tookie Binks]

Tookie sits there and comtemplates what the Unknown Jedi has talked to him about, the death of Tosh was and is still hard for Tookie, Tosh was the closest thing Tookie had as a friend for the past many years. Tookie takes the tissue, wipes his eyes and blows his nose; the tissue flaps in the wind as the Gungan clears his sinuses loudly. As they enter the TapCaf, Tookie grabs a menu and sees that they have something called 'dartfish' on the menu and orders that.

Sitting there and thinking for a moment, nothing comes to Tookie's mind that he believes counts as a set of trials. "Nuttins dat comes to mind; Massa Tosh toldens mesa aboutins de trials once, day sounden hard."

[Unknown Jedi]

The Jedi nods.

"They can be quite difficult, they are actually designed to be."

The Jedi leans back as their meals are delivered, Tookie's Dartfish and for the Jedi a container that looks like some dark green milkshake. He bows to his food and looks to meditate for a moment before picking up the container and the straw disappears into the shadow of his hood. An ungodly slurping sound ensues for a moment before he pauses to speak.

"As I was saying, they are meant to be difficult, but if you are intending to pursue the path of a Jedi further, I or another will be happy to prepare you for them properly; but I think there is little need for concern about it today. There will be much time for further discussion, enjoy your meal and then we will see to getting you a room so you may rest after your journey."

[Tookie Binks]

"Dat sounden luberly." Tookie says in response to not only getting a room to rest in but the help to prepare for the trials he must face to become a Jedi. Tookie eats his dartfish platter and continues to talk to the Unknown Jedi for what could only be hours on end, for some reason Tookie feels good when talking to this Jedi and might take him up on the offer to train under him for the trials. Tookie smiles widely at the thought that he might actually become a real Jedi yet, the thought warms him like a blanket on a cold day, he cant help but think that Master Tosh would be proud of him.

---Cut Scene---

[Unknown Jedi]

Leaning up against the wall outside one of the training rooms, the Jedi watches the Gungan walking around taking in the sights of the Academy, as the green one approaches, the Jedi raises his hand in greeting.

"Good morning my friend. I trust you have slept well and recovered some from your journey?"

Over his other hand he holds a small greyish-silver cube, inscribed with many lines in intricate patterns, it floats there gently, a small distraction to keep him occupied as he waited for Tookie to arrive.

[Tookie Binks]

"Oh, muy muy, mesa seepins really gooden. Mesa seep liken mesa was a weewee beebee." Tookie says as he walks over to the Unknown Jedi and bows in respect. He sees the Jedi using the Force to levitate what Tookie can only describe as a holocron, it looks similar to the one Master Tosh gave him, and is curious about it. "Is daten a holycron?"
